I think we all know that Poker Discussion is waaayyy too cluttered and way too general to begin with... it used to work when the site was small, but now with as many ppl posting as there are this forum is just ridiculously overcrowded and too general...

THis needs to happen immediately, and there needs to be stricter moderation to start, moving posts to the proper areas etc. I know it costs money to have people do this, but poker discussion is nearly unreadable right now.

We've got plans to add some forums.

I can tell you a couple things:

--There isn't going to be a restricted access forum. It doesn't make sense to do it that way. What's more likely is that we'll just start some poker forums with much more strict moderation rules. For instance, any post that doesn't contribute (or attempt to contribute) to the discussion is deleted.

We agree that there needs to be a bit more organization, but the changes we want to make include some technical changes that aren't going to happen overnight.

I appreciate that the access will not be restricted. Although I am not a high stakes player, I enjoy viewing the responses from some of the top online stars and rarely post to them. It is a great way to keep up with advanced concepts.

Your plan for stricter moderation will still accomplish the same goals, I believe.

I'd say Waco should be the MOD for such forum. I can picture him deleting posts because poster " sucks at poker " lol

Adam you posted 3 or 4 months ago that a HSPD type forum was in the works, or at least you had "plans" for it. Is it really that difficult to add a forum with some rules, in advance of whatever technical changes you are planning? Doesn't seem like a near-term fix would be mutually exclusive with your long range plans.

To add a forum is not the hard part. For mine (not poker), my web guys have the forum I want up in 24/48 hours. Maybe Adam and the guys are doing something crazy to make it really good but it makes no sense since a forum is a forum. Also, you can put up a temporary forum and integrate into that when you guys are done with whatever you're doing, right? Maybe it's simple to me since I'm not doing it and my web guys are, I dunno.
