Hi all,
I'm a break even sng player with maybe one $500 score in an mtt this month. I never have enough money worth taking on my poker sites but through other services a scammer can reach right into my bank account.
After reading the latest scam warnings and watching "Recent Scores" flip by from the last 24 hours I'm starting to think that this website is becoming like a menu for scammers to find their prey.
As I sift through past threads so I can do a little security work on my machine tonight I can't help but think the biggest giveaway to the scammer community is our user profile pages right here on P5's and the running total of how much money you can steal from us daily in the recent scores.
My profile is empty now. I don't think anyone ever visited it anyways. I can't jusify the small rise I get seeing my name having a recent score as opposed to losing every penny I have. -
How about not sending someone you don't know any money as protection from losing every penny you have?>

this post is stupid, you could know i make 10 mill a year but if i am not an idiot you wont ever see a dime
-
I wouldn't guarantee that ronjon. Not only idiots get scammed, but you'd know that by not being an idiot.
-
Can you agree that it would take a semi-idiotic moment of weakness to send someone you don't know a large sum of $$$ over the internet though?
-
how do they get the password if i dont tell them and i run security software so i dont have key loggers? most people have seperate passwords for every site and my poker passwords are far more sneaky than my p5s
-
I'm not making the connection. There are plenty of sites that say how much money people have made in tournaments. Why is ours specifically a place where people can get particularly dangerous information? Moreover, I don't think you're talking about scammers here, but rather hackers. Either way, our profiles are doing them no service whatsoever.

hey guys. my (and several other high profile accounts) on party poker were hacked, because of our winnings. NO WE DIDNT DO ANYTHING STUPID . in fact i was in the WSOP at the time. Party poker did several stupid things. so dont write ofr 100% that ur account may be hacked
-
Only in providing a list of good targets. But this site's certainly not the only one that has that information, so maybe hackers might find it useful, but they have plenty of alternate sources as well.
-
I cant see recent scores being a problem whatsoever. If I was a hacker and wanted to somehow hack into someones account I would simply see who won the last $100 rebuy.... Or the last Nightly 100k.... or the last Million dollar tourny.
