As the title says...I got a pair and a flush draw so i'm gonna play the pot....My question is how to proceed...What is the most profitable in the long run?...Do I want to just take the pot down right there or build it up?...I just got the the table so don't know the players, so how do you proceed against different type...thanks in advance
EDIT--After looking at it...Taking it down right there isnt good, pots only 3 bb...so a better question may be, how do you play on the flop?

Well this is by no means a monster that you want to slow play so I think raising isn't a bad option here. Your raise, however, is quite big and it chased the other players out. MB raise to $1.50 and go from there. You would hate to see the turn and river come two over cards with no diamonds, though.

Fold pre?

lol...wait around for aces or kings in a shorthanded cash games, you'd be the one crying when the 7-3 sooooted cracks them
-
I'm not saying wait for aces or kings, I'm saying that 73 suited is one of the worst hands you can get dealt, and limping with it is in the long run a massively -EV play.
Even in this situation where you have top pair and a flush draw, you could still easily lose the hand if your flush doesn't hit and someone else pairs their 8/9/10. -
I agree, I wouldn't be calling preflop here w/ this hand w/ any level of regularity what so ever. That being said, I think you need to raise the flop. You might have bet out too hard, but then again you might have saved yourself a few bucks also. I've learned recently that hands like this just aren't as strong as people think they are, often inticing you to slowplay yourself right out of a stack of chips......GL!
