  1. Please let me know if there are other thread's on this and I'll just read them...

Just wondering what everyone's experience with these has been...are they worth giving a shot?

    Thanks
  2. IMO they are very tough... Usually there are 6-7 multi-table rocks in them and they are hard to beat. I went on a run in them a while ago but i got very lucky. Also, I had to reverse my usual sng style to counteract the fact that they were all playing super tight. I got pretty loose aggressive in the beginning to try to accumulate chips because most of those guys wont play anything but AK and 1010 and up so u can take a little bit off of them there. That said, its very risky and not easy, many excellent players have gone broke or swung very hard in those tourneys.

  5. They are tough but beatable. I've won straight through to step 5 before and then other times felt like ground hog day playing the same step over and over. Step 4 is pretty easy to win if you can get there. There are so many places that pay and 2 move on to step 5 that most people are just trying to lose once it gets down to 5 people and collect a nice pay day if they had started at step 1. I think getting to step 4 is the toughest part.

When you get to step 5 play aggressive. Most people turtle up and play extremely tight. You'll notice the people that have been there before because they are raising many pots and picking up the blinds and chasing limpers out. For a pro this has got to be pretty easy pickings to buy in at $5k and take it down. If you notice this don't be afraid to play back at these people for a reraise just to let them know you're not going to be pushed off your hand. People get very conservative so the best play is to suck it up and play aggressive. Otherwise what happens is that you have 8 people in the game still when the blinds are like 100-200 and it becomes a crap shoot.
  6. I think they just changed the format. Does anyone know when this happened?

Each tournament is limited to 10 players. The first rank gets a freeroll into the next step. If you do not quite make it to first place, you might get the chance to try again on the same level, or you will be looped back to a previous step. If you fail to make it, you drop out and have to start again from the beginning.
