    They more then doubled the guarantee, it seems whenever they guarantee high.... they hit.

    I don't see a downside to having a 5 mil guaranteed every weekend, or at least once a month. At LEAST bump up the guarantee from 1.5 to 2.5 or something.

    Thoughts?

    They ran a ton more sats for the $5m - presumably at the expense of other tournaments and if not that at the expense of rake elsewhere.

    Tens of thousands of people bought in for the novelty factor. If it was $5m every week, sure there would be some that would continue to buy in, but most would get sick of losing $215 every week.

    I don't think it would hit it's guarantee for too long, but i do agree if they increased the guarantee by a little it would increase the field size without the need for extra sats.

    Also, when low stakes players buy in to the sunday million their $215 gets raked once before largely being cashed out by the guys who make the FT. When they play $10 mtts they will rake a lot more on average as they will tend to win some of the time. So while it is certainly in stars' interest to run a $5m tourny once in a while as a marketing ploy, they could actually be making a lot less in rake if they ran it every week, even if it did hit its guarantee.

    The guarantee needs to be raised or made bigger every so often... It had a resonating effect on the rest of the tournaments as well.

    I ran the numbers and they made 800,000 + in rake not to mention the ancillary revenue from casual players probably playing some cash or something else when they busted to pass the time. Take away the lambo and they cleared around 550,000?

    They would need 36,000 + registrants for their normal Sunday Million to clear that much. They should give a car away every month no doubt, then advertise it on tv in places other than ESPN.

    edit: Actually I guess they can't advertise real money tourneys.. :-(
