Petition to Make the Sunday Million a Skill Game Again

    As I'm typing this, I'm watching 70 people play for $1.65 million w/ an average stack of 17bb. Now I'm sure this has already been discussed in great detail, but nothing seems to be being done about it. So I'm opening up this petition to make the Sunday Million a skill game again.

    As we all know, the structure at the end of the Sunday Million is ludicrous. The average stack before we even get to the money is usually <30bb. And the average stack going into the FINAL TABLE is usually only about 15-20bb. With a $250,000+ first prize, something needs to change. With THAT kind of money being contested, the structure needs WAY more play.

    One idea would be to make the Warm-Up the Sunday Million. But then that would take away the second largest weekly tourney we have. A better idea would be to make it a 2-day Saturday/Sunday tourney.

    Obviously we'll still play even if it's not changed, who are we kidding. But I do believe that 'stars listens to its customers. If we get enough of us together, maybe this will finally get the ball rolling to make the Million a skill game again instead of a shove fest.

    exactly.

    obv it wont be a 2 day ever bc stars knows a lot of people watch sports on sunday, relax, and play poker. so having it be sat/sun or sun/mon would make the field smaller.

    and it will never start at the time of the warm up because obv they want 2 huge 215s for rake.

    the only thing i can think theyd maybe try is to swap the warm up and the mil, but i still see whatever 215 at 3:30 being bigger because casual players go to church/lunch/brunch/errands/ect earlier on sundays and relax in the afternoon and evening.

    just no feasible way this will ever happen, but like i said, im on the bandwagon for the change.

    we already have the coops and whatnot that go on for 24 hours.... the sunday million is what it is... a hidden turbo esque structure that pays out a 1/4 milly + to first in less then 10 hours. If u want structure play the sun 500 dont really see the need for changing anything in the sunday million accept for maybe making antis start at 100/200 level

    I mean most of us have played it for years and never made the fucking final table obv its a big luckfest with hardly any skill like most tournys that are not super deep structure

    Obviously a rake issue. Now 90% of the sattys are turbo or super turbo. Less and less skill and more pure gambling. Also makes pokersrars a ton more in rake. Slanted to the casual player that just wants to gamble. Kat

    As much as I'd love a better structure it'll never happen. 95% of that field are amateurs with jobs the next morning.

    They should make something between $75-300 that starts around 10/11et with a similar structure to the Sunday 500. I know they have the new $100 major, but it starts too early for most americans and doesn't have the best structure. Something in between that and the SW would be great

    Once a month, replace the Million with 2 other tourneys.

    1. $530 Million with a longer structure
    2. $55 Million with the current structure

    same structure as the $11 Deep stack but buy-in of $215

    PS: This would be an additional major BTW, all others remain same..

    80% of people who play the tournament would prefer the shorter stacks to larger stacks.

    they used to run a $530 million monthly and a $1050 million quarterly a few years ago and should go back to this. better structures with bigger prizepools.

    i think the best most reasonable option would be to make it 20 min levels, but its a longshot to see it ever happen

    i really dont see a problem with the structure, theres skill playing a 20 bb stack just as there is skill playing a 70 bb stack, learn to adjust and hope for the best

    once a month, $5 mil guranteed with 60k runners. Fck it, if you're going to have to luck fest your way through it, might as well make it worth it.

    holy crap shoot, thats worse than watching that deal that took 45 minutes....... leave the sunday milllllllliiioooooonnnnnnnn as it is, it is a luckfest for everyone - other tourneys can do everything else that people want in this thread

    Maybe when it gets down to the final 1 or 2% of the field, they can go to 20 min levels. That would be cool.

    I would like to see a 2 day "major" with the 2nd day on Sunday. You could have several 1st days. Every day of the week even if you want. That way you can both get a good structure and a good field. Say a 200 dollar tournament that plays for 6-8 hours on the day ones and finish off on Sundays.
