  1. Unlikely scenario as it requires cooperation between competing companies, but I think that having break times on both sites at a given time (i.e. - 1:30 and 2:30 and so on) , as opposed to break times after a pre-determined length of time, would be highly beneficial, specifically in regards to players who multi-table. I hope you take this as a serious proposition as it would become a minor inconvenience to some, but a major convenience for most. Some players may be disappointed to register for a tournament, only to break 5-10 minutes into it. One solution would be to have requirements. In order for a tournament to be eligible for a 5 minute break every hour on the hour, the tournament must have been in play for 30 minutes. If it plays for less than 30 minutes before the next hour, the tournament will not break until the following hour. A tournament will play for a minimum of 30 minutes and a maximum of 89 minutes and 59 seconds before breaking. Note to P5's: I would like to get as much support as possible for this even if you think the idea is far-fetched, just as long as you view it as a good idea. I have written an essay/letter for both sites detailing a lot of the pros and cons of this idea. I have not sent the email and will not post it for right now, but if anyone has anything that they would like to contribute, please do so.

Come up with one logical reason why they shouldnt do this? As is, there really ISNT any breaks in only MTTs if your playing more then one tournament at a time...which Id assume 90%+ of people do. All the current breaks do is make you miss the add-on lol.

  6. yeah been proposed so many times but aint gonna happen.

the casual player would not want a break 10 mins after a tourney starts.

for our sake hopefully the average player is not a 20 tabling good player.
  7. bye

Every hour on the hour would be a simple idea and would work well, I was thinking that they could find an optimal time where tournaments have been running for a while and would prevent as much of the "tourney started 5 minutes ago, time for break" scenario from occurring.

simple in order to do this every tourny would either start at the same time every hour or u could have a break 10 min into a tourny

and after the first 10 mins you have an actual break once ever hour. breaks as they are currently dont arent breaks at all. just add-on missers.

  12. y not just have a pop up add on window
  13. I think this is beyond dumb, but even if it weren't this is actually border line for 1 company to instal, let alone 2 synchronized.

or breaks every hour on the hour so you can actually get up and fucking move. gz dude im sure the avg joe playing one $5 tournament isnt gonna be turned off by having breaks every hour.

  15. lol bro would b nice just fkn wit ya
  16. great idea

  17. The only problem there can be is the finishing of the hands business. You would have to pause all MTT hands and turn the chat off. Also, players in the hand would have 5 min. to fully analyze the hand and go over it, potentially pissing some people off. I think this would be the only thing that would stop them, because if they waited for all hands to finish, each break would be 10-15 min probably
  18. 1. This wont happen

    2. I actually like having off set breaks bc when i have 10 tables up its nice every 10-15 min to have a break from 1-2 of the tables so for a few minutes im only 8 tabling

    3. Do u really need to have a break every hour also? If you were going to do regular breaks then do it every 2 hours. When i play an 8 hour session i go to the bathroom on average twice and i just run and sit out for 15-30 sec and come back.

  24. this would make my life so much better...

i been thinking of a way to maybe setup a second set of monitors with wireless keyboard and mouse that i can setup a switch to when i need to shit...

nothing ruins a good shit more than having to rush through it, plus it sucks sitting out on 10 tables.

  25. Guys this will never happen. All tournies need to have their own break schedule because not all breaks are equal.

Say you have a "universal break" at 2 oclock and tournament 1 anda 2 are both running at 1:59 when the last hand is dealt. Tournament 1 might take 6 minutes for the longest hand to finish, tournament 2 might only take 3 minutes. When does the universal break start? When does it finish?

I got ya. I don't mind playing on my laptop when I walk around the house, but I would like to have an actual break from playing for a couple of minutes and think that the benefits are large enough to more than compensate for figuring out the logistics of it and executing it.

just make it start at a given time, dont wait for the slow tables we usually fold anyways. if we are in a big hand we will wait another hour for a break, still way better than what we have now.

i have a pretty good setup on my desktop and i hate playing on laptops. and its a real pain in the ass to switch mid session, esp when im playing on 2 monitors, i rather just sit out for 5 - 10 min. def brutal if we are short or short handed though.

  30. Yeah it is pretty brutal. I just don't like missing hands ever and the laptop is fine, but why not just follow live poker's example and make a break a break. I mean, gimme a break.
