I'm angryc0w. I personally think I should have folded at the turn after
I checked and he raised. The fact that he reraises me pre at least makes
me think hes on pocket JJ or better or AK, maybe AQ sooted, just from my
previous reads on him. Then he reraises post pretty much elimninates the AK/AQ.
I think its worth a call there, and feel like the check was fine on the turn
since he is reraising me everytime. I knew he was betting at turn, and sure
enough he did. Looking back I think it was a stupid move for me to shove there
at the turn since he had reraised me pre and post, he was bound to call with
a solid hand which he had represented one since pre. Someone else feels
I played it right and that it was just a cooler but I disagree. Obviously I
am biased since the result was bad for me. It's just eating at me because
I know the move I normally would make would be fold given the board and his
betting patterns. This one is really eating at me :/

Just wanted to see how some other people would have played this.
    Thanks in advance.

  2. i think the result may have been unavoidable with most lines you can take on this hand, but I personally wouldn't have faulted you for folding turn as it def. seemed that you were beat. Having said that I would've taken a different line.

Pre-flop you get 3bet. then there's a caller. I would have 5x'd him and been happy to get stacked if he calls with JJ and catches. The way it was played he had infinite set value against you or had a free shot to hit his A if he has AK/Q. next time make it $20 and let him make the tough decision. I'm not worried about disguising my hand here because one pair isn't really strong enough to disguise at this level. I always try to let them make the big mistakes and it's very rare that you get a premium hand like this and get 3bet with a caller so I say be willing to take the pot down there and be willing to committ your stack pre when you're 99% to have the best of it.

  3. Thanks Jcarr. That is one other issue too, is that I felt I should reraised him preflop. I couldn't raise 20 b/c it was PL, but I could have still stuck a sizable reraise in there. I guess with the caller of his raise before me, I felt inclined to just call the reraise and see the flop. I guess it boils down to it was a bad flop for me, but not obvious to the eye. Him reraising my lead should have told me I was probably beat. I am just beating myself up for not repecting his strong betting when I think it should have left me to believe that he had me beat.

  4. I agree, with Ks if you get played with pre just get it in pre. Unless you are facing As, and you will be from time to time, you are a soild fav. FAR more often you'll be facing Ax (mostly AK, AQ but sometimes a lesser A too) and an A will flop 1/3 of the time so HAVE to make them PAY up front to hit that A. You opened it up and he came back saying he has something so hit as hard as you think you can. You are going to get it in on this if you can anyway (you did get it all in after a while).

Unless you are in the zone vs. a player you read like a book and KNOW you are facing As come back swinging if you get reraised with Ks.

Also, as with As you want to get heads up with Ks and with Ks it even more important as they aren't as strong. You reaised got reraised and that got called so top of the todo list is drop one of the players now! This is a second strong argument for a BIG reraise here.

With Ks in this spot I like coming back 10x the to go ($25 in this case) or just push if thats close to or more than 1/2 my stack. I have pushed as much as 5 buys on Ks in limited buyin games if someone has made a pot worth taking.

    my 2 cents

OK I see the PL coment now - so pot it when it gets back to you pre.
