    lol. its safe how many blazers there are on these forums (me included!). Id say if i smoke 1 joint i can play real thoughtful poker, if i go out with mates get real mashed and come home and play i play really bad. The only thing is Im from england so when i play poker its during the day/evening for you guys its all through the night for me! i have fallen asleep and not known what happened a few times during tournies (no word of a lie!) from being too mashed. So basically it would prob make me play just aswell or better if i didnt have to start playing around 2PM our time and finish about 5-9AM our time. If ive been smoking i get to about 2-3AM and really get tired and lose the motivation...
    PS: its also funny how everyone thinks they know everything about green!

    I used to smoke my fair share when I was younger growing up in a small northern ontario town where there isn't anything else to do, nothing....So what i'm saying is I've done enough of it to comment, and I've also seen the positives and negatives of what chronic use can do.

    People who use it chronically WILL play better after smoking because that is the environment they're most comfortable in.
    If they feel they can concentrate better then who can argue with them, it's their opinion.
    I completely agree with the Bad beat thing, easy to forget about and move on if high...

    <span>However, if you sometimes play high, and sometimes play sober, I think this will create problems. You'll loose your groove. Keep to a routine especially if it is working well. If it isn't then tweak it until it does.</span>

    One thing I have to mention though is I don't think any top professionals are playing high on THC on a consistent basis. Sure you here stories of guys playing drunk and maybe high but I would seriously doubt they do that routinely. If the top players in the game play their best sober, then <span>maybe</span> your best results will also come sober.

    It would be interesting to see what top players actually do play high, internet wise and in live settings...but I haven't heard of any doing it.

    I would argue that a significant percentage of top MTT pros do in fact play high on THC...

    Im packing a swat for this thread as we speak.

    I think it all boils down to how much you smoke in your everyday life and what type of effects it has on you. For instance, I have been smoking everyday for as along as I can remember now and I really don't think there is much of a difference between when I'm high and when I'm sober. I think that stoners like me will probably agree, smoking is just something we do, of course we don't need to be high to play, just like we dont need to be high to function, it just tends to make things easier. On the hand, if you don't smoke that often or you just tend to get really high when you do, it is probably wise to stay away from the poker tables when you are lit. In other words, if you are smoking weed and getting "fucked up", dont play poker. But if ur like me, and weed is just another intregal part of life, blaze on, blaze on.

    i def agree with all the positive remarks on this topic,the only thing i say is,excess in anything is not good{except maybe poon,lol},but i know i don't get as edgy and i think things thru longer which in turn has helped me stop making some mistakes,if only society would stop being so redneck against it,and as far as results,i'm still a donk,but not as much when i'm high,lol. gl and roll on 420

    this is the problem with smoking weed while you play. its fine if you're at home or at a home game where you can sneak away and get high every two hours or so. if you're at the casino in a tournament what are you gonna do when you start to come down? if you're lucky enough to have a room in that hotel you may be able to run to your room during the dinner break but otherwise you are being watched everywhere you go. I love weed, I'm just saying if you can play without it you should. dont get dependent

    Here is a question...

    Lets assume that smoking makes you a better player.

    Does the money you spend on pot cancel out the extra winnings you make because your high.

    Lets say you smoke everyday...spend $ 20 bucks a day on pot.

    $ 600/month

    Do you make 600 a month or more because you are high..or do you make 300 more so you actually end up losing 300 total..

    I calculated that I make exactly $50 more per hour when smoking as opposed to not if that helps.

    Do you really think most players only smoke to be a better poker player? I think they do it to be high... If it helps with their poker game, that is just a bonus.

    I can still remember what being "truly sober" is like. If I did for whatever reason forget the difference between being high and sober, I suppose I could just imagine a less enjoyable life

    I smoked weed for half my life stopped about 2 yrs back iam 30 now and i used to ride dirt bike's and downhill MTB and i used to get a bit wasted ( not totally out of it) before hand and found I was more relaxed and focused and able to just go with it ... in the zone you may say but those activities have a fear factor so I dont know, but at the end of the day man what ever works for you and you get the results your looking for go for it I say!

    Being high during a poker tournament makes me basically just know when to steal the blinds or when someone will bluff in position so I can check raise bluff them, especially live games. I know it has helped my ROI in SNG's.
