  1. Just sat down to a deep 1/2 6-handed with antes PLO table with $400, and the very first hand went down like this...

I had posted blind in cutoff. SB makes it $6, I call.

My hand: Qs Td 4d 8c

    Flop: Qc 8h 2s

He bets, I raise, he calls.

    Turn: Qh

He checks, I bet, he calls.

    River: 9h

He checks, I bet, he check-raises all in.

At that point I have to call about $175 into a pot of $625. So I have to be good there 22% of the time or something to call. Should I fold the second nuts to his river check-raise????
  2. no
  3. I don't know much about PLO but it looks like you should probably call.
  4. Technically, 3rd nuts, but I think this is a call. (ThJh, Q9 then Q8)
  5. I don't know how you could think your no good here??

    Please.....

shove it up his ass and smoke a fatty
  6. lol...of course he had Q9 and i was no good which is why i posted it

Ya I snap called of course and was no good.

In the case that I KNOW hes a solid player (and that we have no weird history or anything) then do I fold? If not, is it a fold if its a full pot-sized check raise?

  9. He got lucky and made a good river play. It's hard to check the river with the way he played it... You just got coolered. I don't think you can fold there.

THIS! SHOVE IT UP HIS ASS AND SMOKE A FATTY.. haha yessssss

But seriously, this is a call but i dont think its always a call like OP said. Given you have info on him being tight/solid hasnt got out of line you make a gross gross fold. Without that knowledge, at this level its a call. But i find it hard to believe a solid player at these stakes is check/raise bluffing without the nuts more then 22% of the time....

  11. Yik, what adam said. If you go over the hands/combinations of hands villain likely has here that we're beating that he takes this line with... there just aren't as many as you might think - especially if he's a decent player.

It's one of those spots that nearly everyone first pump calls (including me unfortunately), when it's actually more of a "sigh jdbasfbajsdfbjadsf damnit I can't click fold" spots. KQJ9 (likely with a suit or two) type hands, and the occasional QxJhThXx type hand are just a massive part of his range.

  12. i'm calling at this point, but I think the flop raise is a little spewy. There are a lot of gross turns cards that slam his range and now you've created a huge pot with an edge that probably isn't that big.

as played the rest of the hand is std. as I mentioned I'm definitely stacking off if I played the hand the same as you.

also, bet sizes on all streets would be helpful here.
  13. looks like his range is JTh and Q9 to me...
  14. with no reads im calling for sure... live 1/2 players can be really bad
