  2. tough pot but i think a standard situation!
  3. should i have played it differently?

  4. No, if you play that flop and that many outs, I'd be AI or close to it. You will not run into a set often enough to justify slow playing. If your str8 gets there, you give the villan a chance to get away.

That's just poker. You gotta win those flips.
  5. While you can certainly make a play at the pot if you wish with only the wrap (though multi-way you haven't anything,really- no spade draw and most cards in the deck are horrible for you) I don't recommend it with all these opponents; if one player has merely the same wrap as yourself, plus spades, you're buggered. I've seen that particular scenario cost many a player his stack, including some who thought they knew what they were about.

After the action following your flop bet, you might as well have lit a match to your bankroll as put it all in-only a miracle was going to enable you to win that pot.
  6. What about a check call of $1.50 to see what turn brings?

Much as I'm not a fan of checking and calling, it's a clearly better way to set about things than the way the hand actually went. If, after the check, the next player leads and gets some callers, this wrap is still not much of a bargain, despite decent pot odds; as I mentioned above, any spade or card that pairs the board are fatal to your ambitions, since the only redraws in your own hand are to higher straights, and I can tell you from vast experience that it's likely that someone playing with you here has some of the cards you need, which further devalues your hand. This is why, especially in a multi-way pot or where the money is deep, you want more than a mere upstairs wrap. Lacking the extra values, you're going to get into a lot of situations where you don't know where you are in the hand.
