Should I have raised the flop??? Is my fold on the turn correct? I realize I played the hand very softly, but that is a very scary flop. How could I have played the hand better? -
TY Graps. I was just thinking of another line to take. Like perhaps raising 1/2 the pot on the flop. Would that be a better way to play it? I think raising his flop bet would get him to fold anything but a very big flush. Right?
I only called the flop bet thinking that my calling his bet would slow him down on the turn unless he has a big flush. Is this line of thinking correct? -
I think you should lead the flop, not check/call or check/raise.
You put in the last raise preflop, so you have the initiative. When you check/call the flop you are basically putting up the white flag and saying "please please take this pot from me, I don't want it."
If you bet the flop and get raised, you have a much better idea of where you are at than if you check and call. For all you know this guy has two pair or a wrap or nothing but the Ah. He could have a flush, too, but the way you played the hand you basically let him take it whether he has the flush or not.
If one thing is certain to either of you in this hand, he knows that you do NOT have the flush, and that knowledge is power when you get all passive post flop. -
wow this is a tricky hand but being heads up i think you should lead out flop with the QQQ lookin for some info but....you got yourself into a mess by not gathering info and you forced to just guess if he has a flush or doesn't. I think you should have called and looked at a river card on the turn though.

You're heads up, so keeping the pot too small to get a read is a bad idea... bet the flop and see what he does... I probably fire about 2/3rds of the pot... if he pot raises, I'm gone, if it's much less, you're committed to your board pair outs. Good fold though.
