  1. I'm about to play this Palestinian Liberation Organization 8 qualifier for the WBCOOP and I really have no idea what I'm doing. Never played O8 before, but its a free quali to the finals so I figure I might as well give er a go.

Anyone got any basic tips for me so I don't get eliminated in the first 5 hands?
  2. Try to play 2 way hands like a24q or akq2.Don't go crazy with aa unless u have low cards also or its double suited.Same goes for high pocket pairs like kk,qq or jj.Try to make your money by freerolling the high with a made low.For example you have ah2h5ckc board comes 3d4sjc or 3h6h8c.You can play hands much faster when u have redraws like even if u have same hand and board comes 3d7cks u can bet top pair like the nizzutz cause u the hands u are likely to get called by are low draws so u get 3/4 or even scoop if 2 comes. If u have a made low or a uncounterfeitable low draw than u can pretty much chase anything like backdoor flushes, any pair hoping to make 3 of a kind,or backdoor str8

    This is pretty good advice...
  4. Remember the basics: must play exactly 2 cards from your hand, and 3 from the board. Never play any hand w/3 of a kind dealt to you. Avoid hands w/middle cards like 7-8-9's. Always beware of the nuts....in Omaha, 'If It's Possible, It's Probable'! Good luck.
  5. Be able to fold strong hands.
  6. Avoid danglers. Danglers are hole cards that don't work together with the other 3 holecards. Example: 4,J,Q,K. The 4 is a dangler and this hand therefore has less value than 6,6,7,8 where all cards work together. Avoid hands like J-J-J-x. You do not have a set and it is very unlikely that you will spike the case J to improve your hand.

Also, never slowplay hands. You can't trap in omaha games! On the flop a set may be the nuts, then on the turn someone may have a straight and on the river someone else may have a flush. If you got it, bet it!

If the board is paired, someone is likely to have a full house. If you have an ace and the flop comes A,A,x you better have a real good kicker or a full house or else you are likely to loose this hand.

If there are 3 suited cards on the board, someone will probably have a flush. If you have a flush, it better be ace high or at least queen high or else you are often going to be dominated.

Low straights should be avoided. If the board is 9-T-J and you have 7-8 you are not likely to have the high hand.

Unless you're heads up, don't raise on the flop if you haven't got at least top 2 pair and the board is 'safe'.

Draws are more important than anything here!
