    We've moved our party to New York New York on Thursday, July 27th from 6:00pm until 8:00pm (same time, new place). We have the Staten Island Ballroom #1 there and thank New York New York for helping us out on this. The ballroom is on the third floor. Just take the elevators right next to ESPN Zone and you'll be right there. COME IN THE MAIN ENTRANCE off the strip to Las Vegas and the elevators will be immediately on your right.

    We'll still have that cash bar and paradise poker will still be the sponsor. We'll have enough seating in the ballroom for everyone. New York New York is at Las Vegas Blvd and Tropicana (look for the giant roller coaster). There's no need to RSVP or anything like that - just show up and have a good time.

    Now for what happened at the Bellagio. We were told we would have the deck next to the Prime Steakhouse. Last week, we found out that the management team we had been working with was let go, and the Bellagio reneged on us using that deck. We were then told we could instead have the Fontana Lounge, but a few days later, we were told this was booked instead. We are extremely disappointed in the Bellagio and just wanted to convey our thanks to New York New York for making our party possible.

    NY NY has no poker room........but MGM and Excalibur and Tropicana and Hooter's all have poker rooms and they are just a few hundred feet away from NY NY......easy to crawl to a poker room after the party ends......

    Two things:

    1. Nine fine irishmen is a good little bar in NYNY, you should consider moving the party there.

    2. If it's a cash bar, whats the point of having a sponsor?

    I don't know about 1), but I can tell you for 2), having an open party with an open bar doesn't really work. You end up with a ton of random people coming cause they heard they can get free drinks, which really isn't what we want. The Party and our trip are going to be really expensive for us, so having a sponsorship is helping ease those costs.

    big mistake by Bellagio management.... I doubt if they realized how well known P5's is in the poker community. This will come back to bite them in the ass. Not good karma at all either.

    Gotcha gotcha say no more I never considered that it was more to offset the trip, not just the party itself, my bad. You should check into moving the party to NFI though. They have a nice upper section that you can rent out for parties, it's nice as long as you don't throw glasses over the balcony.

    the way i figure it, if everyone buys wowswift a beer, we'll each have a couple of free drinks because she is a lightweight at drinking and will only be able to handle one or two tops. full circle

    anyone know about after parties? I arrive at tail end of this one and may not make it. Will people all leave at 8:00 or will some stick around generally?

    If you miss the ReHab party at the Hard Rock pool on Sunday you will miss the craziest event LV has to offer. I have extra wrist bands for the P5 staff if interested.

    The sponsorship isnt offsetting the cost of the trip. The sponsorship is not for a great deal of money, and the party does cost quite a bit even without an open bar. We also bought 300 decks of PocketFives.com playing cards to give out to everyone who comes.

    Hopefully next year we can get a site to give us a ton of money for this and we can give a lot more to members, but this is a decent start I hope.

    Just to let all you P5er's out there know what happened to party at Bellagio. I had helped set up party there for P5's and once Bellaio let managment team go at Prime, the new folks there first reneged on the party and then were completely unhelpful.

    There was no help or feeling that they needed to get this setup somewhere else or make good on anything. Has to be the worst example of a service business treating a customer like they were a nuisance that i have ever seen. I am being kind here.....believe me.

    I plan on giving upper management there hell about this when i get there. It won't help, but I can tell you once when i was playing baccarat there and a highroller declared after a hand was dealt he had bet on wrong side, they played out hand and once he lost, gave him back his 10k bet. I lost too, and it took me about 30 minutes of debate and a couple of layers of management with a review of tapes to get my bet back also (i basically told them if that hand was a freeroll i wanted in too).....so i promise you i won't back down easy (by the way i do not play baccarat anymore).

    Thank you to Dan for setting this up, should be a great party at NY NY!
