  1. I haven't watched yet. Is it tourney style or a cash game?

  2. SNG
  3. missed a good helmuth rant last night
  4. Anyone find it odd that the 180 man sit n go's give out 2 seats to Round 2 while the 360 man only gives out 1?
  5. what ch is this on?
  6. NBC
  7. this show sucks
  8. personally i like it. the poker sucks but it is sooo entertaining. and the commentator sucks but atleast he only says like 2 words a minute
  9. Ali Nejad was good on the WSOP live broadcast but with him being in the booth himself, ugh so irritating.

true on the poker, Im hoping it gets better after duke and steve get knocked out.

not a spoiler, more like a wish list.
  10. Alfa. the 360 are .net for freeloaders. the 180 are .com for rake payers.
  11. the best thing about that show is SHANIA
  12. the Hellmuth blowup with Huck, Gus, Shieky and everyone else making fun of him is awesome. You can see the clips on www.nbcsports.com/poker
  13. So far pretty unimpressive. Unless you want to listen to 10 minutes of Phil bitch and Sheikan stammering on.
  14. Here in Colorado, Mountain Time Zone, the show comes on at 2:35AM, who the hell wants to stay up that late to watch it? Damn I wish I had TiVo...hell, it comes on AFTER the infomercials, WTF?
  15. The show is clearly geared towards table talk. It's nice to watch poker without silly commentary ala WPT and WSOP. There are some interesting stories that get told once you get past the hellmuth/shieky obvious "I wanna get a much camera time as I can" BS.
  16. I thought his first name was Oliver.Ollie?
  17. Stickney is 100% correct. High Stakes Poker was such an awesome idea, except the godawful commentary over the table talk was unbearable and made the show basically unwatchable. At least this time around, the network got it right to just allow us to be able to hear exactly what is being said at the table. Yes, it sounds a bit rehearsed and yes the dropins are somewhat annoying at some points, but not having crappy commentary shoved down our throats while not getting to actually hear what is going on is so refreshing.

Bravo NBC. I wish other networks would see this and consider it for when they package live poker events.
  18. Phil was fucking amazing on this show, I don't know how he does it, but he can and will find anything and/or everything to complain about at the poker tables. "OMFG they're talking and laughing, Morty, Morty, what are you going to do about this, 22 years I've played poker and I've never had to deal with someone talking while I was making a decision."

22 years and not 1 comment while you were making a decision ehhhhh?
  19. why do they have cash at the table if its a sng....?
  20. I don't stay up that late every night, so all I can say is thank God for NBC.com. I watch is there every morning.
  21. Phil also said he has never been at a poker game where people did not talk during hands? Was he at poker superstars or high stakes poker? There was always talking during hands and he would complain then too. Only on those shows they drown out a lot of the sound from the table, but it is taking place. It was to phil's credit his chance to promote his "poker brat image" and I think he knew he was gonna go out soon and needed to make his mark on the event. Plus Sheiky was just going over the top to get his image across that phil pointed out all the time was premeditated. So he was salt in phil's wound. For that matter everybody was working phil over.
  22. I'm glad it's down to Gus and Huck. It's so entertaining listening to their drone conversations. I love the phrase "I hit my man".
  23. Gus shows more personality than has been shown of him in the past. He has a dry sense of humor about him. Huck seems more relaxed that he has ever been shown on tv and playing better. Gus actually played some solid non-guslike poker. It shows how he had a plan going in to a show like this that is winner take all.
  24. The one problem I have with the show is that they get chips and use cash stacks. Odd for a tourny. Also, Steve Z. is awful.
  25. Steve must not care. His reputation at cash games is obviously good, but anytime he's in a pot and get raised or reraised he says "ok I guess you can have it." Very tight weak play. When he pushes back he showed big hands which only reinforces how to play him.
  26. Phil Hellmuth is hilarious.
  27. show kinda blows. 5 minutes of poker and 10 minutes of commercials. Everytime I see Huck Seed it seems like he is just waiting/lurking for his next murder victim.
