  1. ... I Need some help sorting thru the masses of books on poker out there. I wanna pick up a few but since there are sooooooo many i dont want to waste my time reading garbage books that will throw off my game. Thanks for the help
  2. idk, there is so much free information out there I almost want to say don't bother w/ a poker book. But if you haven't read HoH it is pretty std.

Edit: Btw HoH stands for Harrington on Holdem.
  3. The new Daniel Negreanu book is the nuts when it comes to improving an intermediate player trying to improve their post flop play. If your kinda new and want to think like a pro try the Phil Gordon Green and Blue books. The best overall option IMO is to purchase an account on PokerXFactor.....
  4. Wow, I think you are the first person I have ever seen that has adviced someone to read one of Gordon's books.
  5. he is not a very good player IMHO, but he does have a way of getting you to think through hands as opposed to just guessing or donking through. Its good for a new player IMO though...Oh yeah the new Gus Hansen book every hand played is also very good...

Have you read them? I read the green book when I was learning the game and it helped a lot with basic poker concepts.
He may not be the best player, he even says so in his books, but he is good at teaching and the books are entertaining to read. You don't need Phil Ivey to teach you basic poker strategy. You need someone who explains basic concepts in a way that is easily understood and entertaining.
That said, maybe OPs skill level is beyond the concepts in these books.
  7. I also enjoyed every hand revealed
