    I know poker is taking off in asia, i am about to go on holidays for 10 days in KL. Have to take the girlfriend,therefore i will definately need at least one session of poker in that time. Is there a casino or poker room near by... if so have any of you played there? any suggestions???

    just guessing, but Malaysia is Muslim and has a growing Saudi/fundamentalist influence, so I would guess no casinos.

    There's a casino about 75 minutes from KL named Genting Highlands. Unless the casino has had a facelift, it's not in the same league as the casinos in the US. The last time I was there (4 years ago), there wasn't a poker room.

    That being said, the weather in Genting is much cooler and less humid than in KL. It's a worthwhile trip for you and your GF to visit.

    Why 10 days in KL--even 2-3 days is enough. Singapore is only an hour airfare away from KL. No casinos but a nice clean modern asian city.

    Thanks for the input donaldleee, i am in KL for 2 days then borneo for 5, for a work conference. My GF hates flying so i thought i would extend our stay over there by a few days at the end. If she didnt hate flying so much, i would definately do Singapore.

    The conference finishes on a Friday, so thought we would just extend over the weekend... i figured that would be enough to see ALL the sites of KL..
