  1. On July 1st, PPA will mark the one month anniversary of full implementation of the UIGEA banking regulations with the PokerMoneyBomb! The money bomb will allow us to fight back and to stand up for ourselves proactively via donations to PPA and the PokerPAC (paid members are eligible to donate to the PAC). We'll let our opponents know that we're not lying down and we're not giving up.

As usual, please reply with "Dugg", "I'm in", etc. Thanks!

I recorded a spot promoting the Poker Money Bomb, at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFjeUo3KnQI.

Thanks! I appreciate your kind words, and I'm pleased that you joined as a premium member. It's great that we're all fighting together for our rights.

For this, it has to be directly through PPA. Fortunately, it's really simple. Just go to www.PokerMoneyBomb.com on July 1. We'll have a PayPal screen, so it takes just a couple of minutes.

  12. I watched the video to this and I totally don't agree with it at all. They are making it sound like June 1 came and went without any problems at all...as if they are waiving it in their faces. These comments are simply not true, and some of us have been greatly affected by the June 1 implementations put in place. In fact, they have made it virtually impossible for me to make a deposit on sites outside of having the option to W.U. on fulltilt.

I also find it harder to find faith in any organization that Chris Ferguson and Howard Lederer are on the board of directors for. It has amazed me all this time to watch people jump on board with this when people can't clearly see the true motives of these two individuals. Do people actually believe that these guys have your best interest in the game over all this?? (Rhetorical) Please....there isn't a poker player in the world that has your best interest in mind! If it wasn't clearly for Lederer and Ferguson's personal interest in gaming software rights for Fulltilt, they could care less about your rights to play online. Don't make any mistake about that!

Until these two people are completely replaced...the PPA is just another business venture for people like this to continue to capitalize on us personally! When the PPA actually stops or prevents something from happening, maybe then I will see it a different way! However, to make it sound like June 1 was a victory for the PPA and its players is a gross misrepresentation of the truth!

Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and for taking the time to comment.

To clarify, I didn't say everything is great. I simply said we're still playing.

I encourage you to get with FTP support for help with depositing.

Why not? What did they do that you find disreputable? I can't think of a thing. Also, they don't run the PPA. They have two seats of seven (soon to be eight).

It has amazed me all this time to watch people jump on board with this when people can't clearly see the true motives of these two individuals.

It seems far better than sitting back and doing nothing like we were doing prior to UIGEA passing in 2006. I'm glad we're organized. Look at the sports bettors and casino gaming enthusiasts. They aren't organized at all. If we poker players were like them, we'd be nowhere. In fact, I doubt we'd still have big sites serving the U.S. had poker players not stepped up via the PPA.

Nice strawman argument. No proof....just conjecture. Sorry, but I've worked with both and have seen nothing but great support for the right to play.

Until these two people are completely replaced...the PPA is just another business venture for people like this to continue to capitalize on us personally! When the PPA actually stops or prevents something from happening, maybe then I will see it a different way! I disagree with that. Consider where we started. UIGEA passed the House in 2006 by a vote of 317-93, and it was a free standing bill at that time (it was HR 4411). Politicians openly and proudly opposed us, and they only do that when they think there is ZERO downside to doing so. Anti-online poker folks did a good job of building a coalition against us. The GOP even put a plank in its platform advocating a ban on online gaming.

With this starting point, it was not reasonable to think poker players could turn this around overnight. Rather, we started a process by which we could build support for our position, and that was better than doing nothing (in others words, initiating the fight was the maximum EV option of the choices available to us).

So, what's happened over the past three years. Well, Congress had heard from us loud and clear. We poker players are on offense in Congress, which is our best defense. No bills have been proposed against us since 2006, after years of anti-poker bills. This has maintained the status quo. After all, we can still play, and that's a tangible result on its own.

PPA also succeeded in delaying implementation of the UIGEA regulations for six months. This further kept us on offense, while laying groundwork with Treasury and the Federal Reserve to improve the regulations. While the delay did expire, we did put everyone on notice that poker players are a legitimate force.

On the media front, coverage used to be completely against us. We now get our opinion mentioned in pretty much every article. I write a regular column for BigGovernment.com myself, at http://biggovernment.com/author/rmuny.

I'm very happy with our progress. Unfortunately, there is a lot of inertia in DC. Politicians still think the big government anti-gaming types enjoy the support they did twenty years ago. We're chipping away at this every single day.

  15. I'll be (happily!) donating today, but I think that it's bad that the PPA is organizing a online poker drive with no way to transfer online funds.

Of course I see the logistical problems with that, but I'm quite sure pokerstars and Full Tilt would cooperate and it's how people would prefer to donate. I guarantee that at least one player is not donating because of this.

Nevertheless, my message to everyone is to **IGNORE THIS OBSTACLE** and find a way to get this done. PPA has been a vocal advocate for our rights, organizes great letter campaigns, and has accomplished quite a bit.

True. To that point, I had them add a PayPal link an hour ago.

I agree that it would be nice to donate via online fund transfers. That's how I would have made mine. Unfortunately, there are various issues. One is that PPA doesn't take money directly from sites. Sites fund the IGC, a trade group that contributes to PPA. I don't know how to get money from a member to a site to PPA without it legally being seen as money from a site to PPA. There are also various restrictions on us as a 501(c)4 nonprofit.

Definitely. It's pretty quick, especially with the autofill button.

  20. I signed up for a premium membership (only $20!) and made a donation to the PAC today!

Poker has been good to me and this is a way to give a little bit back, and hopefully preserve the game as we know it.

If Poker has been good to YOU then you should log on and make a donation... it takes less than 5 min and will help shape the future of poker!

  21. Everyone needs to be in on this, considering the mountain of opposition we have and still face the PPA has worked miracles. I no longer feel telling people that I play automatically carries a negative stigma, there are still ignorant people out there but they seem to be shrinking in number everyday. A 1000 mile journey begins with just one step, if you never take that first step you'll always be right where you started. (para quote from somewhere)
