Poker Office and Tilt -- (semi long)

    I'm so pissed at myself. I been pretty "tilt aware" for the last two years, and has been the main difference in becoming a profitable 1-2 NL player. However, I recently bought Poker Office and imported about 15,000 hands. I was pleased w/ a nice bb/100 of around 5 and a nice hourly rate. I kept playing and losing a little each night for a week seeing the bb/100 drop a little more -- to 4.5 then to 3.7 -- and for some reason it really bothered me. So then I took a couple of beats and cold decks and it dipped to 2.7. Now I know this is "just poker" and 15,000 to 17,000 hands don't mean much, but even though I knew it, it tilted me anyway and I played some big hands stupidly to try and win big pots so my numbers would look pretty again. Down another $550. Stupid. Disaster really did not strike b/c I finally realized how stupid this was and played on UB which doesn't work w/ Office, and I had a great run and actually won a net $50 for the evening.

    Does anyone else have this problem? I'm also not exactly sure what to do about it, b/c I'd like to use a program like this. Its sort of like "don't count your money at the table" line I guess.

    18 000 hands is a raindrop in a lake.....you shouldnt even bother to look at yer bb/100 till you have min 100 000 hands played.

    That bb/100 number is gunna do some crazy things when the sample size is small. Dont sweat it. Look at your $ earned column amke sure that stays green...and the bb/100 will take care of itself

    Is pokertracker easy to use??

    Do you just open it up and it starts working? I was thinking about getting it but looked at some of the screen shots and everything looked pretty confusing. Also people say you need to "import" the hands to get them tracked...what the hell does that mean and how do you do that?

    Thats pretty much what holds me back from purchasing it (yes I know I'm a dumbass).

    I might get tracker, aside from my issues. Can you get old HH's from UB? Are the HH on UB stored on your computer somewhere like stars?

    I always got confused by tracker. Office is easy but it only works on PS and FTP. If I had it to do over again I'd just buy tracker. You can sample both of them for free.

    you need a hand grabber for UB. I'm still waiting for poker office to come out with support. To the other poster asking if it was complicated. Poker office is much easier and it's why I use it, but UB is not supported yet. Supposedly they're working on it.

    Pokertracker is easy to get working and use it for basic info. It also offers a lot of advanced features, which take a while to get used to and some reading up on to understand. But you can import hands and just keep track of your bb/100, vpip, aggression factor, etc very very easily. Download the free trial and you can learn how to use it.
