  1. Interesting post from the PPA president off of 2+2. Our voices must be heard about this upcoming online gambling bill in congress. I copied his post and put it below.

    Act Now!!!
This is an incredibly big threat to your rights as a poker player. I am the President of the Poker Players Alliance, pokerplayersalliance.org. We are a membership supported not-for-profit organization that fights for your rights as a poker player. The PPA needs your support on the hill, please visit our site, pokerplayersalliance.org, and if $20 is too much to sign up for a membership, at least send a letter or e-mail to your congressperson through our links and sign up for our newsletter as the Kyl bill will be introduced shortly, and we keep people updated on hot items on the hill through our newsletter. Customize your letter for even more effect with your personal thoughts.
Having just returned from Capitol Hill, it is clear to me that this is a real threat to your rights, and the threat is immediate. The supporters of Goodlatte's and Leach/Kyl have deep pockets. This is not just some "do gooder" effort, and there is virtually little opposition to this legislation moving forward. Goodlatte has 115 co-sponsors, and although many in congress play poker, an american tradition, and significantly more skillful than horseracing and state lotteries, who have exclusions in the bill, poker is the target. They think this is a cakewalk, and if individual poker players fail to let them know, now, how powerfully you support the game, and your rights to play, this will move forward without much opposition

  2. Just felt this was worthy of a bump.
  3. I'm signing up today. This is scary.

  4. Even if you don't sign up and give them money you should definitely get on their mailing list. They'll help you email your representatives and make sure your opinion is heard.
  5. Yes, this is a must for us online players to get going and help defeat this bill.
  6. A lot of the Senators and Congress Persons don't except e-mail through sites like the PPA best thing to do is find your REP and go to their website and email them there. The e-mails I sent through the PPA got auto-replied back from the REP. But then I re-sent from the Reps. own site.
  7. What exactly did you guys say in your emails to your REP ?
