    why the fuck must i be subjected to all of these assholes berating me and other players for totally standard shit? what is it...people just leave their fucking manners and decency at the desktop when they sit down to play online?

    i cant even count the number of times someone has totally called me out at the tables cuz i bust them or god forbid i do my share of sucking out (just in the last few days im talking)....today i even found myself sticking up for players i have never seen b4 just cuz some waste of life started ripping on them cuz they're disgruntled w wtfever...i even saw a someone bash another player for paying him off after the victim was pot committed...just rediculous

    i could post HHs and go on much longer but its about time for my rant to end

    for the record, yes i get pissed as hell playing poker, i've broken shit and put my fist thru my wall many times.....but i NEVER TAKE IT OUT ON THE OTHER PLAYERS....neither should u

    so its the online thing and not the poker playing population?

    hope so cuz people make enuff judgements when u play enuff poker and "claim" u make enuff money to support yourself.... people whos respect you'd appreciate, such as gf's parents and such...

    just seems to me it should be a gentlemen's game

    For the record, poker has never been a gentlemens' game. It has historically been a game for cheaters and lowlifes. This air of pseudo-decency is a recent phenomenon. It's a good thing but it is a new development.

    Berating others is not restricted to online poker, though. It happens all the time in live games. It happens much much more online but I regularly play with jerks who bitch at others and tease others. Why do I show up? Because the people who act this way are invariably way worse than they think they are and the games are profitable. Unfortunately online players have the security of knowing the person they are berating cannot do anything other than type insults back.

    guess i was just trying to justify myself being a decent person/avid player....not that many players aren't, just that i've come across soo many turds it got to me...

    but i've played live plenty too, and u wont hear shit come out of peoples mouth thats comparable to the shit i read on my screen daily....thats fo sho

    dunno what compelled me to rant about the whole thing....but i was def rude back to these peeps, but i've never started shit personally over a poker game...i just dont get it

    i think it goes back to the ol rant about how people cant beat donks....
    come to think of it....i think this whole thing started cuz i've been playing SNGs for the past few days...LOL shittalkadonkaments

    no i understand that u cant say "nh gg"....cuz i cant do that half the time...but at least i dont say shit at all....i just close the fuck out and throw my headphones(if i'm playin live i somehow shake a hand and say gg without a tantrum)....i just dont belive in putting someone down for their strategy in a fucking game

    maybe they are a fuckin loser but we dont have enuff info to make that conclusion in most cases....

    The online poker world (and not just poker) are filled with people like this. It isn't just poker (if your in doubt, just ask your girl friends how often they can go onine and not be endlessly harassed. Any girl I've ever asked just gets that look saying that you have no idea.

    But, I almost flip this around. Why do you care so much? Ok, you made a good play (you think, no reason to think that you didn't) and it worked out (even if you did the right move, got unlucky and ran into a massive hand, and sucked out). So, the idiot is berating you. If your play makes sense, you know what you did, and any good player in the room there knows what you did makes sense. The person berating you now has given away that he's not that great at the game. So, while calling you an idiot, he's really just waving around a huge flag saying he's an idiot.

    So, why not just let it roll off of you and go on? You getting all upset about it isn't going to solve anything, and even if we all agree with you (though, I secretly enjoy sometimes when this happens, especially if I already labled the person as bad), nothing is going to change. Many people aren't decent in the online world, when you come into this, you just have to accept that reality.
