I planning a road trip with a buddy of mine, we are going to go cross country and visit as many casinos as possible with the final two destinations being Vegas and then San Diego/Los Angeles. Leaving in Jan/Feb. Starting in Massachusetts, going to Foxwoods then AC.
My question is where should we go after this? I have heard the two new WV poker rooms are super soft, but we are really open to anything.
One thing to keep in mind is that we have decent rolls (ie 5k-10k) a piece, looking for 1-2 and 2-5 NL games, and would prefer to go the Southern route to California because driving in the snow sucks, and crossing the rockies in feb is not easy, and also I have already done the northern root to CA before twice.
Thanks in advance guys, looking forward to hearing your suggestions. -
Southern route allows you to visit Tunica and avoid some bad weather.
Better, you can play in New Mexico where play is soft and several casinos available.
Visit Tucson, AZ where play is super soft.
Nice visit to Scottsdale in Feb (big tourist destination) for the great weather & fun poker at Casino Arizona (also several other casinos in Valley of the Sun)
Off to San Diego, then Pechanga on way to L.A. THEN, of course Vegas.
Better weather and driving conditions along the way, better looking women on ASU campus, softer casinos.
=...great trip paid for with superior poker skills. Just watch out for butt seks folks in the South
If you decide to come through AZ call me and I will help fill in blanks.

I've never done a casino road trip or anything but I am quick to support any advice that involves driving through AZ/New Mexico. If you've never been to the southwest prepare to be amazed. I live in the northeast too and went to NM and CO for the first time this summer and the views just driving along the highways are ridiculous and way way more enjoyable than driving through the miles and miles of grass midwest to get to nevada. Have fun /jealous

Ugh, if you took a northern route you could hit the casinos around Kentucky/Cincinnati and then swing by Detroit.
PS. I'd take the southern route -
Definitely planning on going the southern route, to mainly avoid as much snow as possible, not to mention I have already driven the northern route to San Francisco from Boston twice before as well.
So I am planning on those two new places in WV, and definitley places in AZ,
But any suggestions for places inbetween guys? I have heard of some good places in Tulsa OK,
But anything between WV and OK? -
look at the book HUNTING FISH. it is about a poker roadtrip and will give u ideas. some stops are underground games though so check if caisnos are there. Tunica, MS is one. New Orleans maybe. Memphis, TN. check it out. also in SoCal, you must go to the Commerce Casino. I am a regular there and it is the biggest poker room in the world. aggressive loose action too. also, a WPT is there in Feb if you time it right. good luck

Yeah I just finished hunting fish, amusing book, entertaining read.
Mississippi sounds good, especially if it is northern MS like Tunica, so that is def going on the map.
Thanks for the replies guys -
Come to Wheeling WV new poker room. Im a dealer there.... There is alot of soft comp in the 1/2 games. 2/5 pretty standard as the play gets better but there is def alot of easy money....

After Mississippi you can hit Shreveport before heading to Oklahoma.

You should seriously think about making a stop at Golden Moon Casino, near Philadelphia, Mississippi. It is about an hour outside of Jackson, MS. I stopped there a couple of times on business trips and cleaned up the 2-5NL and 5-10NL. Plus there is nothing else to do there so people play 24/7. Then you could hit up Tunica, it's only about 3 hours away.
