    Does anyone think that poker is a sport? I know it's on ESPN and every other channel but would you consider it a real sport?

    Yes poker is definately a sport. Some of the best conditioned athletes in the world are poker players!!!!!

    lol of course its not a sport, theres games and sports. For instance golf is a game, chess is a game, poker is a game. A sport involves physical competiton by at least 2 people and i think this question is obvious i hope your kidding.

    edit...before the obligatory GOLF IS PHYSICAL compeition, its still a game...just beccause its not a sport doesnt diminish its value, its just the way its classified

    yes, poker is def a big time sport, should probably take over american football as most popular here in the next couple of years

    It's definately a sport imo, have you ever tried playing 8 tables when you were hungry? You gotta haul some serious ass to the kitchen and grab some snacks, then order some delivery, then when the delivery guy gets there you gotta haul ass to the door and make it back without missing any hands, it's a tough gig YO.

    Golf takes athletic movements, you dont have to be in good shape but....Your body does have to be physically conditioned and trained to be a succsesful golfer. POKER NOT A SPORT

    More like your fingers need to be conditioned, I have a huge blister on my thumb from the driving range, I always laughed at the golf glove, not I own one.

    when casey martin couldn't compete in pro golf without a cart, I'm pretty sure it was the courts who decided it was a sport - imo

    No, poker is not a sport. Poker is not even really a card game. In a card game the best hand always wins. Poker is a gambling game where cards are used to create situations and odds for gambling. Poker could be considered a game, a competition, or a hobby but not a sport.

    And golf is definitely not a sport. Golf is a hobby. In a sport when you hit, kick, or strike a ball someone else chases it.

    Golf is 100% sport.

    Poker isn't even close to a sport. Imagine if, in golf, Tiger Woods played the best he's ever played in his life and he missed the cut? That's just like Menlo playing the best he's ever played and not making the money of a tournament...and that shit happens in poker.

    The reason golf isnt a sport is because you can play it better drunk. Also the golfers prime is in his 40s. Obviously if its real sport your prime will not be in your 40s
