Phil Hellmuth is the greatest ever, people just get lucky against him

Poker Superstars isn't worth one dollar IMO. Chris Rose and Michael Konik are the worst ever. I love watching poker and I can't even watch this crap anymore. I mean why show hands where everyone folds to the BB and he shows his 3 5. It's just terrible coverage and you can see FSN just trying to cash in on the poker boom.

I agree FSN poker coverage blows dead bears.
ESPN> WPT> random poker broadcast > Celebrity poker shodown > Fox
don't pay extra just for that for sure. -
I find this kinda funny. It's not personal against IB, because I've never seen him complain about this....
There's a bunch of people here who complain that TV edits too many hands out, that they should show more, that they edit hands down at the expense of understanding the inner workings of a table, etc.
Then, Fox has the opportunity to show EVERY hand in one of the quarterfinals because the thing was done in 40 minutes...and there's a complaint about showing a hand where everyone folds to the BB.
This just proves to me that you can never make everyone in your target audience happy.
I've watched every episode of both Poker Superstars series, and will watch the 3rd one as well. I'm not a big fan of the blind structure (it feels like they're playing SNGs on Bodog). But I like that they're trying something different, and I sure like a TV show where I know that everyone is a premier player. It's a shame that they had the "no sponsor" rule before this started, which caused a lot of great players (Negreanu, Ivey, Lederer, etc.) to boycott it. I think that situation has been remedied for the third one.
I don't think this show is a "cash-in" on Fox's part...not a blatant one, anyway. They got legit people running it (Henry Orenstein and Eric Drache). I don't put this on the same level as the "Boston v. NY" and all the other stuff that's been on GSN, or Celebrity Showdown on Bravo, or a bunch of other ones. -
Second that motion, grapsfan. The structure is so-so, and the commentary is a little lacking (but when is the commentary insightful), but at least the players are decent and will be better in the third installment. FSN/Comcast has also gotten pretty good word-of-mouth reviews on its show (I cant remember the name) with all the Full Tilt Pros talking strategy. Personally, Im psyched to see the High Stakes Cash Game (again, can't remember the real title) that Negreanu talked about on his blog the last few days. Dont get to see the Big Game or big cash games, so itll be interesting to see the change in strategy, as well as the hundreds of thousands of bucks changing hands each episode.

While the pokerstars Invitational is borderline unwatchable, the FSN live coverage at Turning Stone last year (the one where John D'Agostino and Ivey are the final 2) was some of the best ever. Seeing every single hand combined with Lederer's commentary was priceless. If FSN did more broadcasts like this, I would say it is worth every penny. I get it free, so even better.
