1. Ok so to all the pro's and semi pro's who do this for a living, what are your plans 10 years down the road? My situation is that I haven't had anything to put on a resume in over 4 years now b/c I have just been playing poker, and if I ever had to get a job....well....it just wouldn't happen.

I guess I could always go back and finish school, but even then I'm not sure how good it would look if a 25/26/27 year old just graduating had no references, internships, work history etc. I make plenty of money, and I'm not worried, just posing questions to the community. If online poker were suddenly and forever banned, I'd basically be flippin burgers till I found a new way to work for myself or someone who appreciated skills that are difficult to quantify in the real world.

Cliff notes: do pro's make contingency plans outside of poker or are all the eggs in one basket?

2. Nice cliff notes.

I've always wondered this too as it's one of the biggest things blocking me from going pro. I figure I would need to earn like double my current salary to make it viable given that the game could just cease to exist at any time.

Having said that old grinders like Brunson, Slim and Roberts apparently made a decent enough living from it back when online poker didn't even exist.
3. make 2-3x more playing poker than you would at a 'real job', save money and start a small business, invest, or buy real estate. there are plenty of ways to make money without actually working for someone else, they just require a large amount of initial capital... so get grinding

Exactly! People making loads on online poker need to be socking that shit away because the saying, "it takes money to make money" hasn't never been so true as right now. With a large amount of capital you can make a killing right now, everywhere.
5. What do you describe as more money? Not that I make mucho bucks but I have the liberty play when I want and not worry about making my mortgage/car/student loan payments...
