  1. Does anybody know if Pokerroom.com is a good site to play at? A friend of mine said he prefers it overall, can I get some oppinions from others?
  2. i started out on pokerroom. and really like it alot.

Great structure, a lot of lower buy in tourneys.

It is perfect if you are looking for a site for tournaments with less than 100 dollar buyins.

    I would try it out.
  3. Agreed with huntsky (who by the way is one of PR.com's best players), the <$100 buyin tourneys are very abundant there. Good structure for their tourneys, although if you're looking for MTT's with antes, PR.com has none. Lots of bad players, and the structure is great, and the fields are not insanely huge like stars or party. The site is also laid out very well, lobby-wise (my opinion anyway). They also offer reasonable bonuses that are fairly easy to clear through any games (MTT's, SNG's, cash).

Overall, it was my first site, and I really like it. For low limit players such as myself (1/2 NL and under, $5-$50 MTT's and SnG's), it is really worth your time to check out.
  4. Does anyone know if you can play at Pokerroom with Pokerhost BR, since they are sister sites?
  5. I started out at pokerroom, and agree with the rest. The tourneys are good. I strictly play stud cash games, and there is always a good stud game going there. The only thing was there bonuses kinda sucked.
  6. Thanks for the advice, I just made a small deposit and am playing a few sit $ goes.

  7. I really like Pokerroom. You can be very patient and play a solid game. Their late tourney structure is the best online.

GL - don't forget to sign up throught the P5's link - you are guaranteed doulbe the normal pocket aces for being a P5 member.

  8. Poker Host is definately not a sister site of Poker Room. There are a ton of PR skins but host aint one of them.

Even if they were, you would still have to deposit funds onto PR. You wouldn't be able to use a Betssons (PR skin) BR at PR. Man there's alot of abbreviations there!!!
  9. good site, one of my regulars.

  10. Can someone please expand a little on what makes the structure of their tournaments better than other sites, such as stars?

Just skimming over some of the tournaments and SnG's, it seems you start with 1500 chips(just like stars), but the blinds increase every 8 minutes? I can't find a list of the blind levels, but the 8 minute thing doesn't scream patience in my book.
  11. Well the 8 minute levels are only for SNGs. There are several reasons that the structure of their tournaments in the later stages is good. First is that there are no antes. That doesn't seem like that much but it starts to make a huge difference if you are short stacked. The other reason has to do with the quality of play and the size of the tournaments. It seems like no matter what more than half of the field in any MTT is gone at the first break, and most of the tournaments are nearing the bubble by the end of the second hour and the blinds just are not very high at that point. I have made the money in tournaments that I only won like two hands. The players at Pokerroom will almost always pay off your hands because they just don't know how to fold. It is not uncommon for preflop raises of 10x the BB to be called by two or three people. You just have to play your big hands fast and then wait for you next one to come. I have played mostly the lower buy-ins ($5,$10, and $20) but when I have played in the $50 Daily tournaments the level of play was not much higher.

  12. great structure?

the blinds are 75/150 before first break in tourneys under $50 at least
  13. i always thought their mtt structure blew
  14. There are no antes in any tournament at PokerRoom.

So if this bothers you then obviously their structure would suck to you.

the PR Daily $50 tournaments are THE softest $50 tournament on the net thanks to all the people who qualify through $6(now $7) SNGs. The level of play = a $10 tourney.
