  1. Hi all,
This is Pokerl)evil, I found out tonight that my pokerstars account was hacked, the hacker played a 5k hu sng, and then played 50/100/25 cash, and busted my account (about 30k) even though I had a friend pleading with the other players at the table to sit out explaining the circumstance but none of them did so. I emailed pokerstars support/security 5 times while this was happening with urgent messages in all, I don't know what steps to take going forward, so if any of you guys have some pointers that would be great. I would really appreciate a phone number to contact stars at, I can't find one.

    Thanks guys,
    Pokerl)evil
  2. still can't believe anyone who plays seriously doesn't have a security token...I also can't believe those guys wouldn't sit out...what a bunch of pricks...

    gl man, that blows...
  3. if you can prove it's not you for ex. a different IP you never been on or whateves. Im pretty sure you can get refunded

but if you have over 15-20k online id say get a Security Token. Do this for FTP also.

Its worth it.......bol getting your acct back.

  4. fcking gay scumbags.... Gl with this Pokerl)evil
  5. Wow sorry to hear this bro. Hope you get refunded in some way :-(
  6. that is terrible man, i hope this works out for you very quickly!
  7. Sorry to hear man, keep on Emailing stars IMO.

seems like this would be more dangerous, as anyone walking by/breaking in has access to your account right there, but look who's talkin about account security...

  10. I was watching that 5600 husng, it was vs skilledsox fyi. Looked like it was played pretty legit. GL w/everything though.

No, I always stay logged in too. Just use a password protected screensaver.

  13. You can't blame players at the table for not sitting out. Also, there's no point in spamming stars. Your email would have found it's way to the Security team who will come back to you as fast as they can. Just sit tight for now and they will take care of this for you. There is no telephone number for support, so just stand by your email and you will get a response quickly enough. For now, you might also want to change your password to prevent the hackers from accessing your account in the meantime. GL dude
  14. Sorry to hear that. I would be sick to my stomach. Im realy curious on how stars handles this matter. Please post outcome if u dont mind.
  15. Staying logged in is NOT more secure. That just makes it easier to get access.

I'm sorry to hear this Devil :(
  16. 2 free steps to make your account more secure:

    - Use pokerstars PIN

    - Create an email that you only use in relation with your poker account
    sry to hear what happened

  17. RSA Token/Pin and your safe man - priceless!
  18. Noobish question: What's the point of this hack? Dump chips to a co-conspirator? I don't understand why someone would hack an account to spew chips.

GL Devil. Hopefully everything gets worked out.
  19. ok...would everyone stop saying rsa token..he didnt ask how this could have been prevented..he asked for help on what he should do next...obviously now a lot more people will use the rsa token, including myself, but jesus christ..one person saying it is enough already.

It is very difficult to recover $ in a situation like this, and I'm not sure it's even possible. I wish the best for Poker|)evil and I would like nothing more than to see an update to the thread saying pokerstars looked into the situation and refunded his money.

However... As you pointed out, he's asking what to do next. At this point he has no control over PokerStars' investigation and any potential resulting actions. One of the very next things he should do is get an RSA token (once his account is back under his control with a new password). There have been numerous threads about people's accounts getting hacked over the past several months, so please excuse those of us who want to stress the importance of better security.
  21. I dont get how this can happen to a dude that's never done anything wrong to anyone and has always been one of the nicest kids i've ever met. this is literally the last person something like this should happen to. It's fucking sick all the psychos out there. It was obvious the hacker was getting his jollys off on dumping mad funds, and it became apparent it wasn't just a dump as he was jamming into different ppl on multiple hands. Sick fucking world. I hope this all works out for you Dylan..
  22. wish u all the best

lesson for anyone who reads this thread, get urselves a RSA token, seriously

Well for one if someone gains access to your email they can just email stars and say they accidently stayed logged in at a friends and stars will log you out for them. I'm pretty sure I've heard of stars doing that before.

  25. Was the money being dumped to one or two people (like they were in on the hack) or was he just spewing at random?

  27. since u are a regular and stars should know that, i think they should at least freeze the winners account and check it out.

if the scumbag hacked your account and dumped it on 5K hu, most probably he did so to a friend.

i know he could also just be busting your account for free but doesnt hurt to check it out.

  28. Thanks Dan, yes I now know I should have had an rsa token, yes I wish I did have one, yes I will be getting one.
As mentioned by lil bollocks, the money was scattered to different seemingly unknowing people. there was a 5500+100 hu sng played against skilledsox which i'm assuming i lost, then about 26k was lost at 50/100/25 to 4 or 5 different people. One of the things he said in the chatbox at one point was "do you have aim" so it was clearly not the most pollished hacker/dumper ever. Seems he just wanted to bust my account the day before the scoop main event and fuck me over royally, mission accomplished.

As for results, my account has been closed, stars security didn't reply for 5 hours, and there was very little info, so hopefully the investigation is in the early stages.

  29. quick lil update, after changed my pw for all sites last night, my UB was hacked this morning and had 3300$ transfered out of it, on hold for UB support right now

  30. Siiiigh.

But if it was a transfer, its pretty easy to get your money back. (But its UB, so you never know...)
