As a follow up to my last thread, I played my Step 6 ticket and finished 3rd for the $2825. Since I have bills and loans to pay, I'm looking to cash out most of it (probably like $2500). stars is offering me the wire transfer or check options. I know the wire is faster but there's an associated fee. Does anyone know how much this is? Also, how does it process? Is it direct to my bank account or is it Western Union-tastic?
Thanks for the help!
(In before "sick brag." It's my first 4 digit score, leave me be =P) -
you sure you wanna activate your doom switch already???

I haven't had a problem with the checks in the mail been doing that for a couple years now. I also did the direct transfer into bank last time, it was fast but I am unaware of the fee

Mhoddi, how do they actually do the wire? It is Western Union or what?
-
You don't have an e-check option? I've been using them with no problems and have the $ in my account in less than 3 days. $2,500 max exery 84 hours.
If you don't have it, definitely do the wire for the small fee. Checks should just be avoided as it seems all other options work easily. -
I've never made a deposit on stars actually so I don't think I have the e-check option available (I traded money via transfer to get my br there). I ended up going with the check, probably riskier, but I'd rather not give them all my account info, plus I like physical tangible money transactions (shockhorror)

But this is an obv sick brag about never depositing. Congrats anyway and gl

fwiw if you write anybody a normal check, your bank account number and the bank's routing number are both at the bottom for everyone to see, along with the bank's name somewhere on the check. The only other thing you give to stars is the bank's swift code which anybody can look up online. w/e tho, gl

Eh I just have a thing with checks too. I still write my own for all bills instead of paying online. I guess it's the tangible thing? I dunno. Plus, Price is Right wouldn't have a Check Game anymore if the art was lost =P
As for sick brag about never depositing, I did a trade of $50 FTP for $50 PS via a forum I'm on so I never made a deposit on PS, just on FTP (several, painful times) -
Honestly what I would do if I were you is make a small deposit with e-checks just so you can always have that option when withdrawing. Make just like the minimum deposit to set it up and then you can even cash it out right away. E-checks is god. Takes like 2 business days.

Any UK P5r's offer me some advice on PS withdrawals....
How come I can't withdraw to my VISA card?
Does anyone know how much HSBC charge for the bank wire if they even do?
Should I just be going for the check (cheque) option since that isn't charged and I won't have a problem with it bouncing being from the UK?
Or Neteller is my other option but obv they have their own withdrawal fee?
Cheers for the advice
