  1. i just realized how some of the books you order through FPP are a rip off. For example Harrington on Holdem costs 2000 FPP. Which comes to $0.0156*2000= $31.20. ($0.0156 is the standard rate for each FPP, I calculated buy taking a $250 Futureshop Gift card divided by 16000 FPP.)

So you're basically paying $31.20 for the book, when you can get the book for like $21 on Amazon new.

Books are definitely not worth purchasing it through stars.
  2. good call...never did the math on these things lol.
  3. Not nearly as bad as the electronics.

Despite the fact I wouldn't mind having another samsung 204b I won't use my FPPs on it when I can use them for sunday mil tickets, giftcards, etc and get a ton more value.

I really wish they would price everything more reasonably.
  4. The difference is, assuming you are a winning player, it is almost free (aside from rake).
  5. those LCD's they charge 40,000 FPP's for are equivalent to how much real money?

Using your value per FPP... .0156* 40,000...comes to $624 bucks ?? thats a pretty good deal is it not?
  6. seems like a great deal to me
  7. IMO,the best value is to play the Sun Million 1 table SNG's for like 5400 fpps or whatever it is.I think the top 4 in those get seats.
  8. Tiltinshoes,

Thats a horrible way to look at it. Whatever amount of FPPs you have has a value.

    They obviously aren't worth nothing.
Obviously getting an item that is worth far less than the value of the FPPs is -EV.
  9. LOL guess you didn't look at my comment of the rake and assumption of being a winning player. Trust me, I see the value, but your comment is just off as other people have already stated that as a matter of fact they are a great deal. I don't know the specifics, but if you can manage the Porshe it looks like a hell of a deal too (althought most people will never come close to generating those points.)
  10. I'd rather wait and spend 40k FPP's on an LCD lol.
  11. For a winning player 63 FPPs=$1(aproximately).
    For a losing player 63 FPPs=$1(aproximately).
    For a breakeven player 63 FPPs=$1(aproximately).

The value doesn't change. Its irrelevent. The electronics and various other items are overpriced.
This isn't my opinion, its pure math.

Without looking up the sticker. I do recall that the porsche does happen to be a decent deal.

However, most of the electronics and other physical goods are far more pricey than giftcards, tournament tickets, and FPP satellites.
  12. I don't see a 40000 FPP LCD. Am I blind?
     2
  13. They don't have to give us any FPP's at all. So its basically all free.
  14. But they DO give us fpps and those fpps have real money value.

    I don't see the 40k lcd either.
  15. I could have sworn i saw it the other day...u dont see any tv's listed ?
  16. If they didn't give fpp's many players that are supernova would be playing solely on FTP and othersites that offer rakeback..
  17. bumping this thread..

i did a calculation and it looks like playing in the stars million is waaaay better value than purchasing those vip rewards monetary bonuses that you still have to clear.... anyone else agree with me?

It's like a dollar for every 63 fpps for the sunday million ticket, where it is around 80 fpps per dollar for the bonuses.
  18. Yes buying the 13,500 FPP tickets to the Sunday Million are the best value by far, for any who is not a supernova. I think the supernova's get a really good cash value if they cash in like 100,000 FPP's, but im not sure.

  19. I think the LCD was 24" and was 50K. Anyone ever get a TV with FPPs?
  20. the 10 man 5400 fpp sats are the best value imo. Buying a ticket is a huge ripoff. Well not a huge ripoff if you ahve any knowledge of sngs.
  21. 70fpp sngs to the sunday 100k are instant $11
  22. For the $1500 supernova bonus it comes out to $.015/FPP, and for the Sunday Million it is $.0159/FPP. It's not that big of a deal, especially if you are not a tourney player and would prefer the $1500 which can be unlocked in a week.
