congrats to zeejustine i'm pretty sure he'll crush it...happy for him. go team bodog!
I once ask for my account to be deactivated for the remainder of 2006 and it is now 2009...my account should be reactivated by now especially if pokerstars lifted the ban on justine "ZeeJustin" bonomo who was caught cheating. please inform me what i have to reactivate my account. There is no reason why i can't reactivate my account when i got banned for asking to take a break.
pokerstars didn't want to reactivate my account cause they said that i said i had a gambling problem. well what the heck is self-exclusion for...ppl that can't stay away that want to take a break.
now back then when i asked they didn't offer this "selfexclusion" but they do now...and i never asked for it to be permenant just for the remainder of 2006.
i didn't break the rules really...maybe i few nasty e-mails when they said that i had been banned forever...but it kinda hit me by surprise.
what can i do?
***edit: it was 2005 when i did it, not 2006...been so long i must've forgot -
squeaky wheel gets the grease

good game!

I tried to do the same. But im not ZeeJustin.. Im not friends with KidPoker..
So see you in May I guess. Just remember folks who they look out for.
Thank you for your email. Your email was escalated to me as a member of
the pokerstars Game Security Team.
As you note, after serious consideration of the issues involved, the
player 'ZeeJustin' has indeed been allowed to play at PokerStars.
You may be aware that the incident that caused 'ZeeJustin' to be barred
from PokerStars happened three years ago. He has since recognized that what
he did was wrong, and has accepted the consequences of his actions. We have
no reason to believe he has ever tried to circumvent his suspension.
'ZeeJustin' has served a long punishment; he has expressed regret for his
actions to us and to the entire poker community; and he has even become a
crusader for fair play. Consequently, he has earned the respect of many of
his peers.
Though some in the poker world will never forgive him for what he did,
many already have. While we do not condone his actions in the past, we do
accept they are now in the past, so 'ZeeJustin' is now welcome to
play on PokerStars again.
PokerStars enforces its game security rules firmly, but fairly. We
consider every case on its merits, and we believe that the continued
suspension of 'ZeeJustin' is no longer appropriate.
Separately, on the issue of your self-exclusion, that is not something that
we are able to override. PokerStars has a self-exclusion service in
accordance with our commitment to responsible gaming, and a key part of that
commitment is that measures are not reversible.
Please let us know if there is anything else that we can do to assist you.

Hello Dean,
Thank you for your email. Your email was escalated to me as a member of

However, there is nothing that will change our minds to allow you to return
to PokerStars. Your account was closed due to an admitted gambling problem
as stated in this email back on 9/20/2005:
"pokerstars please ban me from your site please for the remainder of the
year making it so I can't play on pokerstars til 2006. I have a huge
gambling problem and it has really taken my life downhill."
You have sent us many emails since then, each eliciting the same response
from us. The response has been that we cannot open your account. We have
gone back and forth over this issue for several years now. While we do
understand your frustration over this sensitive matter, we have a very
strict policy that prohibits us from opening a players account back up once
a player has requested their account be closed due to an uncontrolled
gambling problem.
You may think we are making a mistake about this decision, but rest
assured that we would rather err on the side of caution, then allow a
player who has admitted to a gambling problem back on our site, and have
the possibility of that player become harmful to themselves and everyone
around them.
We really wish you all the best in your future, but our decision remains firm.

LOL @ thread.
-
Well somebody who cheated got his account back and the kid is just wondering if he could get his account back as well. He clearly asked for his account to be banned for 3 months, over 3 years ago and he is still banned, there is something wrong with that. I feel that you have full moral authority (ok i made that term up) to play on somebody else's name. Gl on stars, you can play on my name I don't really play anymore, jk obv.
-
I don't get it. Why is turningstone banned for life if he asked to be excluded for the remainder of a year (3 years ago)?
-
pokerstars is prob scared of being sued or getting negative publicity over people with gambling problems playing on their site. Therefore, they obv have a very strict policy on anyone stating they have a gambling problem from playing on their site.
Sucks for you and good message for anyone else not to tell Stars they have a "hugh gambling problem" when asking for a self ban. -
I think the OP's point is that he asked to be excluded for a period of time via email before the "perma-ban" option was available through the software. If he did it through the software he wouldn't have a case. If he wrote in his email to stars "I have a gambling problem; please ban me from your site" he wouldn't have a leg to stand on.

If he in fact asked for a ban of a specific duration via email I think he does have a point. Either the OP is misrepresenting the interaction or PS is taking a typically hard-ass line. -
ask them to provide you with the exact email you sent them to be excluded. if it says you asked for 1 year then i think they should reinstate your account.
-
You have to admit that it's kinda BS that they give "special treatment" to high profile players. If they can unban someone, they should be able to overturn someone's self exclusion. I made a mistake in my past when I was on monkey tilt and wrote pokerstars to self exclude me....ZeeJustin made a mistake in his past when he cheated, he was banned but PokerStars let him back.

ZeeJustin's mistake was much bigger than mine, but he is still allowed to come back. -
Why in the world should pokerstars have to prove anything to you? You guys are acting like you have a right to play on pokerstars.

You fucked up dude. They think you still have a problem. It is their choice. Get over it.
On the other hand, they believe Zee paid his price.
The level of maturity showed by the OP just affirms pokerstars decision imo. -
Sucks for you man. pokerstars, they are the judge, jury, and now they have become the parole board also. Your parole is denied sir, although this high profile cheater(insert name here)..........well lets grant his parole after all he gonna pay alot of rake, and he is sorry he cheated. Are you sorry you requested a self ban? Yes? Sorry maybe at your next parole hearing! If this is accurate I don't know what to say except this sucks for you.
-
I find it hard to believe that anyone expected a post that didn't side with [poker site name here].

Seriously bro you can abstain from posting on topics where you have an obv bias. Really. -
Both of you are dumb.
Unless you're implying that OP doesn't have the type of connections necessary to override a lifetime ban, in no way does OP's situation warrant the perpetuation of a ban moreso than that of ZJ.
He asked to be banned for a few months, over three fucking years ago! If OP fucks up again, it's his fault, not pokerstars'.
OP never asked for a lifetime ban, and in no way is Pokerstars obligated to impose one, imo. -
So... the gambling problem just magically disappears after being banned for three months???? Stars made the right decision. For all we know.. he could be lying to them to feed his addiction some more.
