pokerstars stolen check.....

    I signed a check and it was in my wifes wallet that got stolen last night. This douchebag has been trying to buy thousands of dollars worth on all our credit cards so Im sure he is going to try and cash this. I contacted support and they said they forwarded to the appropriate deptartment but I havent heard anything since then....12 hours ago. Anyone know whats gonna happen with this? Am I gonna be out this money? If pokerstars stopped payment in time am I gonna be charged? This every happen to anyone before?

    I always write "For deposit only" with my bank/account number on checks when I endorse them. That way no one could cash it if they find it.

    But... I think you would be out the money unless the bank or pokerstars can recover it. I would expect him to use some check cashing place with the end result being that you're out the money.

    It really isn't anyone's fault here so I wouldn't say PokerStars owes you anything other than a good effort to stop payment. That, obviously, can be difficult on a Sunday.

    got my answer....that portion of pokerstars works banker hours....looks like im out $600.
    Is this what it feels like to get sucked out for half your bankroll? or is this worse?

    Uh this is how it feels to endorse a check, then just leave it in someone's purse/wallet.

    that sucks man. I know how it feels

    I was in desperate need of money last week ( cc debts, etc) so I cash out 90% of my BR which was like 750 lol and as soon as I got the check and went to cash it, at the bank, I got held up a few hrs later at a forest perserve LOL

    to make it short: losing over $500 sucks esp when its ur wifes fault.. haha
