So I was playing on stars, when I suddenly see this weird symbol on my chat window, with a message below saying I should type it in, and that I have 100 seconds to do so lol
Did that happen to anyone else before ?
I sent them an e-mail and this was their response...
Hello Dominik,
Thank you for your email and for allowing us to be of assistance.
What you witnessed was known as a "CAPTCHA", which is an acronym
for "<span id="lw_1226130273_0">Completely</span> Automated Public Turing-Test to tell Computers and Humans
Apart". In a nutshell, it is a part of the <span id="lw_1226130273_1">pokerstars</span> software intended to
ensure that our games are free of "automated players" sometimes known
as "bots".
Occasionally, players may be asked to complete a CAPTCHA based upon
various aspects of their play. Exactly which aspects, or when a test may
be triggered, or how often the may be triggered, is not something we can
reveal.
If you see a CAPTCHA test on your screen, please complete it by entering
the letters requested. You will have ample time to complete the test
without interrupting your game. Failure to complete the test when given
may result in additional detailed scrutiny of your account.
Thank you for your understanding of and cooperation with these procedures,
which are intended to protect the interests of our players. By keeping our
games as free of bots as possible, we ensure that you are always playing
against human opponents rather than an <span id="lw_1226130273_2">automated computer program</span>.
Good luck in your games, and thank you for playing on PokerStars.
Regards,
Sean

solid brag
-
OBV brag. lol just playin. No I aint never heard of them doing that before.
-
I had this done to me about 3 times in less than a week. I thought they were doing it to everyone at the same time. I did not realize they were targeting certain players until just now. I guess I need to mix my game up a little.
-
happened to me multiple times. including 5 minutes ago.
-
nobody remembers the HOECAKES thread
-
happens all the time, heres why
1. pokerstars dont like me
2. i dont like pokerstars
3. they know i want to be a bot but i dont know how to be 1
4. my friend was shot by a bot
5. he is now dead. END -
This has happend to me more than once when I was playing sngs.
-
If you're 12 tabling, and you have it on Stats or something on all your windows and the chat box is closed, how are you able to spot this?
-
I have yet to get one, i multi table but usually a couple games on stars and tilt and throw in a 5th from doyles or cake here and there, so i guess only a couple tables open makes somwhat a difference on stars?
That or my play is terribly exploitable....lol -
it's a very obvious popup that you can't hide behind another table.
-
I used to grind 24 tables of cash and currently play 9-15 tables of STTs and have never gotten this...I feel left out
-
I've also seen these messages in my chat box. Do you really think they only check certain accounts that meet specific criteria? OR perhaps, it just completely random? The different times I've seen them have certainly been random.
-
I've had this a few times and always assumed it was some donk at my table complaining to stars that I'm a bot because I've shoved into his BB the last 10 times in a row.
-
How do they know this works against bots? I mean, arn't bots suppose to be smarter than people and programmed to do exact math or whatever. If these "bots" are so smart, why can't they type whatever is need to be writin? Even so, why not have the bot creator type it in, i'm sure he just doesn't click a button and go to the grocery store....he may, I dunno.
-
I had same pop up awhile back . The funny thing is I rarely play more than one table . And I had been playing two tables for like 15 mins when it came up. Not exactly bot like . Must be random for anyone on multiple tables.
I suppose every little bit of security helps. -
If they only saw how horrible you play.. They wouldnt have even bothered..
J/K -
and what can happen if your chat is off?
