  1. Hi, I'm a micro grinder, dabbling in 25-50NL cash and 11 dollar sngs. I'm thinking of moving over to stars because I dislike Tilt's structure and selection of games for sngs and traffic. Problem is I get rakeback and free card runners training on tilt. I'm mostly gonna be playing sngs and mtts from now on since I can't seem to do very well in cash. So what should I do? Plus I feel Stars players are generally softer than Full Tilts.
  2. stars ftw especially for sngs and low stakes.....and more u play on stars u get just as many benefits with there reward system

    STARS > tilt all day

  3. Wait til the beginning of next year and make a run for Supernova Elite, followed 2 months later by revising the goal to Supernova.

  4. Play both.
  5. stars ftw. as someone who used to play a lot of micro level. there tourney's take long but they pay way better then tilt and i feel stars lower limit sit n go's fill up very fast.

I'd like to, but I prefer to stick with one site for their rewards programs. Maybe if I were a professional grinder, but not as a hobby.

Yes. It's pretty hard to get a good micro level mtt on tilt because they don't run them often. Plus their mtt/sng structures suck pretty badly. Although I dislike Stars' payout structures, I'd rather have a chance to go deeper with a decent structure.

  7. If you get rakeback, you get more benefits by staying at FTP.. Also if you feel the players are better at stars, not sure why you would want to move..
  8. the rakeback>stellar rewards on stars for the micro grinder. The $10 sngs on tilt are pretty soft from my experience. Rakeback, plus free training is a no brainer to me.. if this is just a case of having the run bads and wanting to switch up your luck I suggest reviewing HHs and just gather your head to make sure your in the right state to play before starting a session. Whatever you choose though goodluck buddy, hope it works out

  9. mtts on stars,, cash on tilt with rakeback obv
  10. I think I'm gonna give up on cash, too many regulars in it and i don't think I have the mental game to play it.

Yea i used to grind the 10 dollar 45 mans all the time, but a run bad and I stopped playing. I like playing these but the structure sucks and I've had many chip leads go to waste because I started running bad and the blind levels shot up super quick.

Umm no. It has been posted time and again that micro players with rakeback are better off playing on FTP than grinding on Stars.
  13. uhm if youre playing 10$ sngs NL50 seems rly high and i doubt you can beat that tbh... try like NL10 and see how it goes then improve and move up. as for the actuall question. stars might be slightly better but rakeback and cr is a pretty good argument for staying with ftp. so i dont rly know lol

  15. Im a micro SNG player and havnt played a whole lot but i got about 100$ on stars but i just was able to get rakeback on tilt at 27%. Is it a much better idea for me to transfer my money onto fulltilt and grind the micro SNGs there than on stars since im going to get rakeback or should i not bother and play on stars?
  16. Both have heaps of traffic, so you'll be able to get good volume even if you don't have a lot of time to play.

Rakeback isn't going to make a lot of difference to your overall results if you don't put in volume. If you only play a few sit n gos a week then it really doen't matter.

I just looked up your OPR and if your 51 tracked games had been on full tilt then you would have got about $1.40 in rakeback.

Its great that you got it, but I wouldn't make it a focal point.
  17. yeah i havnt played many MTTs at all it doesnt seem like or even SNGs for that matter and when i did they were all quite awhile ago until this month.

what if i was putting in a decent amount of volume like 500+ SNGs a month or more? would this still be to small of a factor to even bother?
Another thing i think i should take in account is Fulltilt points vs FPP's. Which are going to me easier/more useful for a player like myself?
  18. I'm not sure how FT points or FPPs effect your rakeback or VIP level.

I just looked at Sharkscope and see that you have 500ish games played and a 3-4% ROI

if you played 500 sngs per month at only the $2.20 level ($0.20 rake each) you would get $27 in rakeback.

(I know we're not supposed to talk about these stats but its to show a figure that OP will be able to relate to)

At you current OPR ROI% you would still be down $314 after $27 rakeback credit.

Using sharkscope ROI you would be +$65.94 ($38.94 without Rakeback)

FWIW most Regs would say that 500 a month is nothing, but it really depends on how much time you have to play.

Rakeback will always help, but even if you are a sucessful player playing high volume (lets say min 2000 a month) at a $12 level with 10% ROI and RB you will make $2400 without RB and $2940 with RB.

If you only break even then you only made $540

It helps, but you can't live off it at micro stakes.

Try to save some $$ and deposit and give it a go, you may just run better at FTP and Rb will be a little extra cream on top

  19. sweet thanks alot man, im guna go ahead and go to the site to site transfer thread and see if i can get my monies over there.

And yeah i completely understand 500 is not much at all. But i guess if i can save even 20$ or more a month heck why not. And if im able to have a positive ROI and continue to get better at SNGs and move up stakes then it will be even more eventually.

    thanks again i appreciate it.
  20. i rate rakeback highly, for the limits your playing, that is still quite a significant sum to you. and who knows later down the track when you claw up limits, it will be worth even more(also dependant on volume obvcourse)
