I'm a bit of a computer donk, but I'm wondering if there is a way to run two external monitors off of my dell 1737 laptop. I have an hdmi out and a vga out. However, when I hook a monitor up to each output, it will only recognize the last monitor I hook up and then it won't recognize the first monitor I hook up. It won't allow me to turn off the laptop's internal monitor except to only use one external as the main monitor. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks -

I wonder what the picture quality with that would be, seems like the cheapest of the options so far, which is a plus

sell you mine if you want. used it for about 2 months. -
no, its impossible because its not based on the # of outputs, its on the graphicscard( i have a 1730 xps) which is a bitch to replace/cant rry been done in laptops. i would just go w/ getting a tower

thats all you need it to run is 1 monitor... and the other monitor plugs in through the regular VGA 1 USB + 1 VGA = 2 monitors

If you have a VGA connection you'll need a "Dongle" to use a two monitor configuration. I've set up thousands of systems with dual montitors and not one had to have dual videocards--just a dongle. (obv your video card has to support dual monitor configuration tho)
