  1. Wanted to comment on the way hands are posted here FWIW (not much obv):

Not ragging on anyone in particular, because 90% of the HH's I open on this site start with nothing but a pokerstars or FTP hand history copy/paste. We are then supposed to look at this random HH of a hand you probably lost (thus the post) and make some sort of god-like reads on how you should have played it.

Let's make a few things clear:

Posting a hand without any significant reads or history is a waste of everyone's time, including the OP. You will get no real help from anyone, let alone any players that really know what they're talking about. Most of the responses you will get will be from players that play exactly like you, playing their hand for absolute value which will not make you a better player. Or it's just a super standard spot which shouldn't have been posted in the first place in all likelihood. Most of the hands aren't meant to generate any meaningful discussion anyways. No good player is going to waste his/her time on a thread like this.

Do not be scared of the microdonk flamers telling you how bad you are. I can't remember the last time I've seen a HH posted that didn't meet one of the following:

    1) The play in question wasn't really anything but standard.
    2) The play was not standard and OP was flamed mercilessly with dumb comments from people who no doubt have little clue what they're doing.

People also seem to post hands where they can disguise some bad beat story. The title of the OP is something like, "TT on 8 high flop, what would you do", when the answer is painfully obvious. The after 4 or 5 people have said the obvious answer OP chimes in with a, "yeah he hit runner runner straight! LOL what a donk, just wanted to check my line". No you didn't. Stop lying to yourself and stop wasting our time.

When you post a hand, you should have relevant reads and history. If you don't have any, then say so. Saying, "I saw the guy shove AQ with 15BB's" is not a read and it is certainly not history. A hand where you saw a guy stack 100BB's with QQ prf in a cash game is not history. Undoubtedly there will be hands where you have just sat or what have you, please say this. If all you have is a HH though where you have JJ and 20BB's facing a raise, there is little anyone can do to help you. It is a completely standard spot and I highly doubt anyone is going to come in with some mind boggling new way to play this. Stop wasting space. When you have KK prf and someone shoved 150BB's in a cash game, no one is going to have some drastic insight on the hand. They may say fold (lol P5's cash game threads), but they're wrong and you have learned basically nothing. If you're soooooo sure the guy has AA then why post the damn hand?

In the end, I haven't seen a HH thread in forever where I thought the OP was actually trying to get better at poker. Maybe that's a function of people not knowing better. But after this thread, hopefully we can change that. If you're really looking to get better at poker, then grow a pair and post a hand where you really think you misplayed it and ask for advice. Yes, you will probably get flamed by the e-mob microdonks, but that's alright. You may find some golden nugget buried in between the horseshit that will really open your eyes to a new concept or something.
