  1. Final table of the Paradise 6k..

    You're sitting 8th with 42k.. UTG.

You look down and find Ah Kh Qh 6d.

BB is 20% of your stack.

    Your play?

I waffled between folding, raising, and calling. I don't like to raise from up-front in Pot Limit Omaha High, though.. it's generally not a good idea.

I'm thinking maybe I should have mucked it.. as there's only three cards working together there, and one of my flush cards is in my hand, leaving only ten out there, with some no doubt in others' hands.

    What actually happened..

I call, stack that has me covered raises.. I think and think and call. The BB was to hit me the next hand, and the raiser had been raising garbage for the last hour.

He wasn't this time.. QQTT. Board didn't help me at all.. ended with two pair, sixes and threes, and a 9th place finish ($166).

I'm not too bummed about 9th, given that I was 19th with 23 to go.. but I'm pondering that last hand. If I'm playing just to stay alive longer than a few others at the table, I fold it without hesitation. Thing is, I was playing to get that $2,200+ tamale, and I needed to move. I'd rather push with a hand that I think has a good shot of winning than with a BB that I don't have a choice but to play.

    Your thoughts?

  2. hey:

first of all let me say that I lost right after the break
with a "great" hand preflop that I got most of my
chips in with before the flop. I had AAT9 with one ace
suited with the T and I lost to QK92 with the Q suited
with the 2 when he flopped Qs and 2s and then filled
on the turn - so a) i suck and b) who's to say what hand
    you should play.

having said that... If your read on the raiser is that he is as
likely to push with crap as with quality then you have to go
with that and make your best decision based on all the info
you've gathered. As I have said on here before, If you don't
act on the information you gather then what's the point of
    paying attention at all?

    nice job bryan ;o)

  3. Thanks, seal..

The flop was the suckiest of the suck.. 632 rainbow, no hearts.

I wanted to stop/go.. that is, see the flop and muck if it was garbage. However, the 99% donkey decided to play just this one hand properly, and forced my decision pre-flop.

  4. 3 of the same suit with a dangler from up front on a full table is an easy fold unless you have a boss stack. I imagaine everyone on your table was in trouble as far as stack vs blind size, it's better to wait IMO. I think the only way (if you are going to play the hand) is to raise the max hopefully you scare the table because you are raising from up front and perhaps get lucky if someone calls. Fold is my 1st choice in most situations given no other information. PLO is a slower game than NL HE at the end, and there are no antes, you can wait a bit longer.

Congrats on your final table finish.
