  2. meh...prolly call

  3. i call

  4. Anyone else?? Probably simple for most and in my mind was pretty simple choice, but this could be a leak in my game. And if you say call, then why? Not sure I'm getting the proper odds to call, or am I?

  5. He seems fairly strong. You are raising from UTG + 2 so unless you have been very aggressive I wouldn't mind folding this. I don't see him pushing with a smaller pp so best case scenario you are racing. Very borderline, but I would lean more towards a fold.
  6. Ur getting like 1.7:1. It really helps to know something about this player, as he is reshoving 13bbs. It really could be a super wide range.

However even against a fairly nitish player you not in horrible shape figuring his range could look something like AJs+, KQs/o, 55+. I don't have PS but I'm figuring that even if his range is like this its a fairly ez call and it could potentially be much wider.

I think folding here is a pretty big mistake.
  7. i think before u open you have to decide if u can call thirsty or motainc's all in, they have ~13-14bbs.

If ur answer is no then probably do not open with 77 there

As played i think ur gettting 1.6 to 1 to call. I am guessin his range is wide enough to call getting that
  8. i'd re-raise to establish your hand.
    • if he calls then you can re-evaluate on the flop.
    • if he re-re-raises you then his range is TJs+ QQ+
      • if you re-re-re-raise him for information
        • if he calls he has you beat
        • if he folds you win
        • if he re-re-re-re-raises you then fold

This is really great advice. We need to be thinking about stack sizes of those behind us all the time. In t'ment poker stack size is everything.

I agree, great advise! And to be honest, I never even thought about them being 12ish BB stacks and the thought of calling if I'm raising... I need to apply this thought process into my game....

  11. The end result was I folded the hand. I have a hard time late in MTTs calling off almost half my stack with small PP's. I guess thats a leak I'll need to fix...

for what its worth, 2 hands later he open shoved with AQ and I knocked him out with QQ. So in the end I got his chips anyway...

you have to think of the times when you get 1.7-1 on a coinflip which in turn gives you a chance to win the tourney. Dont fear busting, fear being a short stack and having to win everytime you go all in and get called

  13. Yeah... 77 is one of those 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' hands for me. 88+ I probably call though. Guess I just need to open up my range a weee bit.
