I know this has been posted several times before but it's worth posting again. If you have not joined the Poker Players Alliance (PPA) www.pokerplayersalliance.org, please consider doing it now. There are over 550,000 members now and there are both paid and free memberships. The PPA is having an affect on proposed legislation to legalize and regulate on line poker in the US. There are now two bills aimed at legalizing on line gaming (House Bill HR 2046) and one aimed at giving online poker a skill game exemption to UIGEA (House Bill HR 2610) plus a third bill to study online gaming (HR 2140).
The more people that write their congressman and senators the more influence we will have in this issue. I wrote my senators and congressman and now my congressman is a co-sponsor of the Frank's bill. So obviously he's gotten enough feedback from other poker players that he's joined the list. There are now 19 co-sponsors of that bill and the more letters they get the more traction we'll gain. The time to act is now though. -
Fa sho. PPA is helping us make some huge progress in such a short period of time. Just a few months ago I really questioned if we would be able to legalize, tax, and regulate online poker in america anytime soon but now it seems like it will happen a lot sooner than i ever expected.

Yet another bill introduced today relating to online poker. I think it's positive that these bills are aimed at regulation and not the banning of online poker.
