I submitted it to Digg (which can get more people watching it). If you are posting I would post the tunyurl link rather than the video itself in order to get hits and get people watching who normally woudln't.
I'm hoping with Aquiring the Senator to head and help lobby discussions on a carve out can finally put to rest many of the concerns that the PPA were uninterested in fighting for our game, and even speculation that they were just out to get our money. Great Commercial, Hopefully good will come from this, and a growing number of members... -Jay
I think it sucked. The little card guy running around on the screen was ridiculous. Cartoons are not a great way to convey the serious infringments on personal liberty that the UIGA represents. Nor is club dance mix music. Professional gamblers saying "I love poker" is not really persuasive either. And for the last time, give up on the "poker is a game of skill garbage" and focus on the broader message of what justification the government has to intrude upon people's private decisions about what hobbies to pursue. But at least they are doing SOMETHING.
Seriously, I think ther person who made this had some severe ADHD issues. How about developing each reason why the UIGA was ridiculous in SEQUENCE rather than jumping around to little soundbites that touch on different reasons and then cut-screening to a picture of guys with computers for heads. It almost gave me a seizure.
you guys,
please click the tinyurl link beanie posted and login to digg. Next, click "digg it." The more people that click this the more people that will see this ad (digg posts links to things that lots of people "digg").
this can really help and literally takes 2 minutes of your time. so far, only 4 people have clicked "digg it"
personally beanie, i think this commercial looks budget.
a lot of the pictures are out of focus, the computer generated graphics are borderline comical and the focus of the entire commercial is too broad.
they should have focused in on one point. IE// that the bill is against all gaming, but not horse wagers...why is horse racing a different legal argument from poker?
i am happy though that they are starting to get something out... I just wish the point of the commercial was simple and clear and not 6 different experts making 6 different points about 6 diffrent issues.
this looks like an internet video to appeal to 20-30 yr old crowd gets a few facts out there with a lil influence poker has such as the many celebs that play even some online mayeb im thinking to hard but i like it
This video has some good ideas but is pretty godawful in terms of effectiveness. PPA couldve gotten better production quality from any college mass comm class. Did I actually just see the king of hearts slapping fake people's heads to reveal a message and then laughing about it???
This video has more value to young kids for humorous purposes than anything else
They need to make it very simple and clear and take it serious. Have it start off showing the fbi with masks on running in a nursing home in the middle of the night with guns drawn and stealing everyone's oxygen tanks then compare it to the government freezing millions in american citizens neteller money. Then show a slimy little rat with a name tag of Bill Frist putting small print onto a must pass security bill to get the uigea act passed. simple yet effective.
Our lives are miserable because we agree that the commercial is terrible? Think about what this looks like to someone who doesn't play poker... it will do more to hurt our cause then help. This is a very serious issue to me, I make a living playing online poker, and I believe a more serious tone and message is needed than what this commercial provides. Things like this are the exact reason the PPA has none of my money.
Beanie come on now. The video is terrible. If your werent so biased you could open your eyes and see that. And because theres an over whelming opinion that the video is terrible our lives must be miserable?? lol...come on now.
