  1. Hello, I'm losing my mind, I've been looking for some software lately and can't seem to find it. It was quite plain with no really fancy functionality. You select a number of players, a starting chipstack and a blind structure, difficulty and go.

I'm looking for it to basically practise my MTT at different field sizes etc 6max,9max and deepstack etc. I used to have it a few years back but cant for the life of me find it. It wasn't fancy in the slightest v.plain.

If anyone knows what im talking about pls help me, sorry for vague description.
  2. There are a few different pieces of poker simulation software you can check out here. Not sure if any of these is the one you're looking for:

  3. The only thing I can think of that sounds similar to that is the old turbo texas hold em by wilson software, mike caro used to be a big supporter of that software. It was far more in depth than what you are describing I think though, I googled it and apparently they are still around and making the software but I have no idea if thats what you are talking about or not.

  4. Thanks for the links couldn't find it on either site it's similar though doesnt have seats or anything in the interface just a table with nameplaters/chip stacks. No zip option.

I'll keep hunting and when I eventually find it (12months from now) I'll post it up as its an amazingly useful tool.

  5. I dont understand how this software can be useful?
  6. Well the key advantage I found was being able to experiment in different scenarios, replay it and find leaks with zero risk to my BR. Or if i was planning to play in a new tournament (recently got into deepstack) allows me to adjust my gameplay to it etc.

  7. Is it against other players or the computer?

A lot of these simulation programs pit you against the computer in a variety of situations. They are helpful because the more situations you see, the better you're bound to be when you run across the same situations when playing for real money.

MikeClarke, Advanced Poker Training is another program you might want to check out. It's you versus a bunch of AI bots, where you can control how the AI bots play and generate different scenarios.

  9. Can someone recommend the Tournament version?

I don't quite remember what version of Turbo Texas Hold'em I used, but it's relatively basic and required a CD in order to install on your computer, as opposed to a download from a website, which was a bit inconvenient. If you're a brand new player, though, it might suit your fancy.

  11. I used to use a Kill Phil poker software that helped me with calculations. You had to put them all in manually but it was a good help.
