  1. Has anyone been to there poker room yet? HOw is it I know its only been open a week.
  2. Someone at the Rivers said the other day said that Presque doesn't have a room as it's owned by the same as the one in WV
  3. I'm fairly certain they have poker tables, there's just no actual poker room. They're mixed in right with the slot machines.
  4. No poker tables, just table games like 3 card poker and some other forms of tables games.

  5. most of the racetracks dont want poker, they want slots and other type of video enetertainment for people to bet on including virtual horseracing. they have been trying to get slots at the tracks here in ILL for 6-7 years now and have failed every year, all the riverboats in ILL and northwest indiana def dont wanna see em get em. i own thoroughbreds and work within the industry and have suggested to upper management to try and open up a poker room 5+ years ago since they cant get slots and they didnt wanna bother since its a fixed rake on poker and doesnt generate the type of money as say blackjack would nor slots or video poker of course. as much as i love horseracing it is a dying game and the track was too stubborn and naive to see that by bringing new people into the racetrack(poker players) they might actually gain some new fans. one track that was struggling and a card room actually helped that i know of is tampa bay downs. i know gulfstream also in florida also now has a poker room and casino but their purses were doing fine way before then. here in illinois our purses have pretty much stayed the same while tracks prarie meadows in IA and now the indiana tracks are now running for better purses due to slots or casinos as a whole on their racetrack properties. higher purses equals more horses entered per race which of course means more money the track makes.

hawthorne which is right outside of chicago has some 1 day WSOP qualifier goin on a few months back which i thought was a good thing but actually wound up pissing me off because they charged the people comin solely for poker that day parking and admission to the track like they normally charge racefans/bettors/ lol degens. doesnt matter whatya do, if you dont treat the customer right they wont come back. as far as presque isle goes they only been open a few years, went there the first yr they opened and its a nice place and they race for good money but too small for my liking
