original raiser had only played a couple pots since the rebuy period ended and those pots didn't go to showdown. -
fold
-
here is the key that makes this an easy fold: "since the rebuy period ended" i'd probably fold during the rebuy period also, but then it would be a hard decision
-
1) Just call preflop 2) Fold
-
so if you know that xbelieverx has a,k are you still folding?
-
but you don't know that, his range could certainly have AK in it, but to say you know someone has a specific hand is rediculous.
-
i wasn't saying i did know anything, i'm asking if you knew he had a,k are you calling off your chips on a coinflip?
-
lol @ folding any pocket pair during the rebuy period.
-
Sure I would, but what is that telling you? Sure if you know you are a fav not flipping would be bad with all that dead money in the pot, but how often do you know you're flipping? even when you're positive they have something, and you end up being right, you still didn't know they had it, you guessed right, but you should be guessing at a range rather than 1 specific hand.
-
so my original read was that the shortstack that pushed all in had a range of any pp and a-10+. i was definitely calling his all in when xbelieverx pushed all in. if i felt xbelieverx had a,k or a,q i definitely would have made this call thinking that the two of them would be sharing cards giving them less outs. this is how it played out.

i really hate this rr pre-flop .... best line was to call and hope to flop big ..... wasting 2,000 chips ( if ur intent is to fold to a re-raise isint a good move )
If you were planning to call a push ... then its not so bad, but its too early to hopefully flip w/ 77.

then about 5 hands later Lee Jones was nice enough to dish up this beauty.

Lee Jones resigned

then about 5 hands later Lee Jones was nice enough to dish up this beauty.
You realize that when you got all your chips in, it was basically a coin flip, right? -
lol @ basically a coinflip. that's what i love about these online mtt's. people like aj law see two suited cards in their hand and they're like SWEET, i've got a flush draw. then when those other two of their suit hit the flop they're like DOUBLE SWEET, i'm basically a coin flip against any hand. you may want to check your math again aj but last time i checked a 65-35 is not basically a coinflip. most coins i flip tend to land on either side about 50-50.
-
Um, no. For the record, I hate the fact that people are so willing to put their stacks at risk early on a draw. I've said so numerous times on this board.
And, I stand corrected about the percentages because I mis-read your original post. I thought you had top pair, not top two pair. That's why my original calculations had it as a flip; any ace, any spade.
Still, the fact remains that nearly 4 times out of 10, you'll get drawn out on. So, it's not like he caught a two outer or runner/runner or anything. You were far from dominating him. And, this isn't even factoring in the tidbit that he already committed about 40% of his stack to the pot when you shoved. He was pretty committed at that point. IMO, no way was he going to lay that down. As the favorite, you shouldn't want him to lay it down.
Personally, I would never put that much at risk on a draw unless I'm the aggressor. But, that's just me.
If you "love" these online MTTs so much and you play in them a lot, this kind of move should not be all that surprising to you. -
original raiser had only played a couple pots since the rebuy period ended
so you repop with 77?
