1. ~100 left, 90 paid.. I had just doubled on the previous hand w/ AA.

Villain was recently moved to the table, hadnt done anything out of line, but had a very healthy stack and a solid db (160% ROI over 1500 tourneys on stars w/avg buyin $25)

DahJinerat: ??????

The 6d is a pretty awful turn card- makes a four-card straight and completes a flushdraw. Since I have the Ace of diamonds I have outs on the river regardless of what he has. I have 23,500 left in my stack and the pot is ~11k.

What is the optimal line here?

He could definitely have the str8 here or the flush if he flatted w/ suited connector type hands (although I think he usually raises the flop w/ his broadway flushdraws), in which case I need a diamond on the river, although it will be hard to get value on the river if i do hit being OOP if he only has a weak flush or the naked str8. I also think he could have random overcard/braodway hands which may include the K/Q/J of diamonds, as well as some medium pairs, and think that this is a perfect spot for him to bluff/semi-bluff in position on a very very scary/coordinated board.

Assuming this is correct, do you
a) check-call this turn and re-eval on the river?
b) check-raise all in?
c) throw out a defensive/blocking bet (which may induce a bluff/semi-bluff raise)? If you bet and get raised, shove or fold? If he flats, what do you do on blank river?

2. well obv any bet here commits you to the pot..

I would prob check.. and shove to any bet by him, you obv have 0 fold equity here but I think your good here enough of the time to shove...

I think with the flush/str8 on the flop you need to fire a pot sized bet here. the weakish bet on the flop gives a lot of hands the odds to chase you down.. I might shove the flop here..

I prob check/shove if he bets the turn while really hoping to take off a free card here...

Obv shove a brick on river if he checks behind you..

but im just a low limit micro donk coonass...

3. From your 102nd place finish, I am guessing whatever you did was wrong?

BG still loves ya Dahjinerat!!! LOL

4. Why are you betting so weak on the flop? You have no idea where you are at there because you played it weak. Fire more on flop, at least 2/3 pot. If he flats you and you get that scary turn card, then I am done with the hand. check/fold on turn to any bet that is 1/2 pot or more.
5. Preflop play is fine, bet much more on the flop, you have a straightening and potential 4-flush board and he's playing a pretty wide range pre. I would overbet the flop (pot or more) because of this and then hope to get raised. As played, if you are certain he would have chased on one of those draws, this feels like a check-fold to me. If you have a solid read that he might have floated, then I check-shove.

IMO I have played with villain and he has improved his game significantly over the past few months. He is very solid and I would bet that he has completed a draw here (suited connectors seem likely). Given this read, I am leaning toward check-fold.
6. id say that the guy had a pockets pre and floped a set
7. FWIW. . . .

What does he think your range is here? Given the way the hand played out, I would assume he would define your range as 99+, AQo+. With that said, it is very easy for him to bluff/semi-bluff this turn regardless of what hand he has. It's difficult to think he flats the flop with a set here; more likely, he has some type of overpair or draw that possibly got made on the turn. Maybe even 66 that just setted. I would mostly be worried about the K/Q/Jdd hands that hit on the turn. (p.s. - why do you think he raises with these draws on the flop?). Regardless. . . .

If he is a solid player and has accurately estimated your range, he will likely be raising any probe/defensive bet you make, especially considering the depth of his stack. This is an ideal spot to bluff. And you're still in the dark when he raises you here.

I would actually lean towards check-calling or even check-folding if he makes a large-ish bet. Like you said, will you get value if you hit the flush on 5th street? Depending on the size of his bet, check-calling may be a spewy play if you're check-folding to a non-diamond on the river.

Mainly, I don't see any reason for you to get crippled/go broke in this spot. And you're in a brutal spot here. I definitely don't like the check-raise AI, as it seems too volatile considering your stack size.

Then again, I'm still learning. How did you play it?
8. I'm not that afraid of this turn. First of all, bet more on the flop, it's wrong to get tricky here, just 80% pot it. Now the turn helps flushdraws but he would probably raise/shove this flop. Sets the same. Also 65/66 probably shoves the flop. Nevertheless it's a great card to bluff so c/r ai, definitely with your redraw. Don't forget to valuebet most rivers if he checks behind.
