Guys a scary thing may be happening on Prima. Last Monday, I played the 20,000 Guarantee rebuy. The Prize Pool exceeded the guarantee as there were 120 entries. With 12 of us left, the site went down and the tournament was cancelled.
Ok. That happens on all the sites at times. Prima was slow on responding, promising a refund within 24 hours. Finally today, I was advised that I was being refunded ONLY my buy-in but the proceeds from the eliminated players, it appears, are being kept by Prima.
This violates their tournament cancellation rules which follow the standard protocol of pro-rating the proceeds from the elminated players among those left:
<SPAN>"If Players have been eliminated, the remaining players receive a refund of their buy in amount. (and) The remaining players receive a portion of the prize pool from all eliminated players….”
I ahve emailed Prima for a clarification but I had already pointed this out in response to an earlier email from them that they were only refunding the buy-in.
What this means is they may have pocketed the buy-in from 108 eliminated players.
I have emailed them seeking clarification. I am wondering if anyone else has had this experience with Prima?</SPAN> -
thats fucked up

You have discovered the flaw of Prima--I would never have left Prima except on several occassions they had glitches that caused tournaments to be canceled or had delays of multiple hours or Tournaments disconnected large numbers of players for a significant period of time (thankfully, it did not happen very often). It was very difficult to get refunds (although I got several after just pounding Customer Service and Royal Vegas senior staffers--and I played a ton).
And anytime you requested a refund--CS always said--"it was not out fault--it was your computer"--wow I heard that a lot.
They gave me my whole online bankroll so I was sorry to go--but I was afraid something bad would hapen once and I wouldnt get anything back--plus they stopped growing and a large skin left the Prima network that had a large number of soft european players.
Other then that--Its a great place to play with great people and players that I miss-I used to be a great supporter of the site--but no more -
Hey Cajun--
Yeah remember those days--500 people disconnected--200 cant get back on for an hour or more as tourny continues--NO REFUND--and it was YOUR computer lolololololololol

Truly unreal. First they sent an email saying I was receiving $209 representing my buy-ins. Then after several calls and emails, they said they were still investigating. Then they send a new email saying my $209 was actualy $159 for my buy-ins and the last $50 was my share of the prize pool.
There were 120 players in a $109/50 rebuy/addon. Based on average buy-ins, the 108 eliminated players would have bought in $200-250 a piece. At $200, that 21,600 in a prize pool for eliminated players. While I was low stack, its inconceivable that my pro-rated chip count of the prize pool would have been exactly $50. These thieves (and I don't use that term lightly) have pocketed over $22,000 in prize pool from the eliminated players. Its an easy theft. The eliminated players aren't going to complain. And the 12 remaining players are easily made to go away by refunding their buy-ins and stonewalling them.
Beware of Prima folks.
Here's the first email claiming the $209 was a refund of buy-ins. Note the later email claims that the same $209 represented $159 for my buy-ins and $50 for my share of the prize pool:
<SPAN>"Hi ________:
Francois here from the Fortune Lounge Casino & Poker Group.</SPAN>
<SPAN> </SPAN>
<SPAN>First of let me state that none of the funds of the tournaments was retained by Prima Poker, now called Micro Gaming.</SPAN>
<SPAN> </SPAN>
<SPAN>Please allow me a moment to explain what occurred.</SPAN>
<SPAN> </SPAN>
<SPAN>When the $20 000 Guaranteed tournament was cancelled, they had the server payout out as well. This means that the gaming server looked at the current standing of the players at the moment of the cancellation. From here all the player that was currently still in the tournament were refunded all their buy-ins, re-buys and add-ons. The remaining prize pool was then paid out according to the prize schedule. </SPAN>
<SPAN> </SPAN>
<SPAN>We are aware that this is not as stated in the terms and conditions for Multi-Table Tournaments.</SPAN>
<SPAN>
At the moments you have been refunded $209.00 that covered your buy-ins, re-buys and add-ons. Our service Manager is addressing the matter with Micro Gaming.</SPAN>
<SPAN> </SPAN>
<SPAN>He is aware of the seriousness of this matter and you will be updated the moment that feedback has been received.</SPAN>
<SPAN> </SPAN>
<SPAN> We thank you for your patience while we attend to your request.
Should you have any further queries in future, no matter how big or how small, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind Regards
Francois
