I hope your making this up

we can only hope they misread the A as a diamond instead of a heart

Same thing happened to me the other night online.
Me and two others in hand 10 - A straight on board I'm on button, check, check I push and the other two players both fold. I was laughing so hard my wife ran up stairs to see what happened.

Haha. My brother told me he saw this happen in a Casino once.
Three players were in the hand, TJQKA rainbow on the board.
First player to act thinks for a minute, then throws out a pot-sized bet.
The next two players to act both Hmm'd and Haw'd about it for a couple minutes, and both eventually folded! The one guy even said "I think you're trying to buy it." Haha.
The worst part is the entire table was so uncomfortable with the situation that the dealer even broke etiquette and said to the second palyer "Sir, the only way you can lose is if he's holding three cards."
And the guy still folded.
The punchline after the hand was resolved one of the guys realized what he had done and basically just said "Yah, I don't play much just for fun" or whatever, but the other guy remained completely and totally clueless that anything out of the ordinary had happened. -
if you have ever played Royal Hold'em on UB it is fun to bet out when there is a straight on the board and see if anybody will fold...susie ;)
-
I just saw this exact thing last night. Guy called the bet, said he had the straight too, mucked his cards, then got pissed when the dealer didnt give him his share of the pot.

when the nuts are on the board, there is always one knumbskull who will go all-in and make everyone else pay the rake to split....OCCASIONALLY someone will drop out not realizing what is going on, but its rare.
:/ -
But that minimal extra rake compared to the times that people will drop out? Worth it, in my opinion. I would only use this at low levels, as I assume those at higher levels are more likely to recognize the nuts.
My funniest time, I did that and someone sat there and thought about it, and finally said "I know you are bluffing, but I can't call you with this" and folded. I scopped and he asked me my hand and I told him I had a straight, and then he says the funniest thing of all, "Oh, i guess I made a good fold them" -
i like live a lot better
-
It's hard to say whether it's +ev to bet here in a non-trny situation. I've seen the fold enough.
-
I thought I was the only one hearing that - freaked me out!!!!!!!
-
I think sheets is doing it
