Problems playing WSOP vids on thepokerbay.org

    I am computer illiterate and can't seem to play the videos. They are in .avi format. Please help, thanks.

    AVI stands for Apple Video Interface (if I remember right).

    You can use the QuickTime player to view .avi files. Lucky for you, you can download it for free from Apple's web site.

    Thank you grapsfan but it doesn't work in Quicktime either. These are torrent files. WTF is a torrent file?

    have u acutally downloaded the file yet? it will sometimes show as "wsop.2006.ep13.avi" for example but wont play because you havnt downloaded yet. Use a bit torrent downloader such as azzerous, download the torrent from pokerbay (a torrent is basically a link between the file location and yourself) then open the torrent with the downloader program, once the file has downloaded an avi should play in windows media player. I have Ep 1-14 2006 from poker bay and they play fine.

    Thank you rampage, you're correct. How do I use a bit torrent downloader such as azzerous?

    There very simple to use,

    Just download the downloader:

    http://azureus.sourceforge.net/

    Install that, then download the torrent you want from pokerbay,

    I usually save it to desktop, you will see it appears as an azzerous icon, double click on it and the download will begin. Im on 10mbps broadband in the UK it takes like 20mins per episode.

    Once thats done the file will play. Note that sometimes you will need to unzip the downloaded file.

    Also, .avi format can also be played in windows. I dled a bunch of WSOP 2k6 eps last night, they're all working fine.
