1.) what is his shoving range from the SB with 17bbs?

2.) what is my calling range here with 32bbs vs his shoving range, and WHY? i'm trying to get some insight into specifically WHY i should be calling here with certain hands, and why others should be folded... ty p5s!
  2. I'd probably opr the guy to get a sense of how competent he is, but I might assume a range of A10s, AJo+, KQ and any pairs 77 or better? Maybe something like that is reasonable, then just stove your hand vs. that range (or whatever range you decide) and see if you have the right % to call.
  3. these spots really help to know your player, without reads or seeing him shove a similar stack before i might tighten up

sumthing like 99+ aj or aq+

however if he is competent or been re shoving this sort of stack before calling 77+ a10o+ if hes really really agro mayb kq too

honestly expect any pair most broadway hands and sum weaker aces, plus obv the top of his range to be re shoving here
  4. He could shove any pr, ATs+, maybe tighter? I only think this tight on the Broadway cards because you're an early pos raisor and he could just fold and be on the button with 17BB in a far better pos to shove hands.

Given that you need a good hand to call with - TT+, AK, but i'm not very good in these sort of spots. I just think he's not playing into you here light, I can't think of a reason to.

  5. Ty for the initial responses...

Can anybody show me some numbers to support different ranges (ie. if he shoves light, what can I call with? & if he shoves tight, what can I call with?)

  6. I can't run it right now, but just download pokerstove if you don't have it and it's pretty easy to put in any range you'd like for the villain and compare your actual hand's equity vs. that range...
  7. ya I'm at work right now and don't have access to it.... figured somebody could help with the dirty work so I could see it and think about it while I waste time until the day is over...

  8. Just checked him out on OPR and he seems pretty decent. I'd tighten up and call w/ QQ+/AQs/AKo. But i'm a nit.
  9. Without a read on him and this deep hard to imagine he is a total donk. to risk half my stack this deep, i would have to have a premium to call here. AQs or better and probably 1010 or better. Maybe a little nitty though but this deep prefer that I am the one shoving first.

this would make me call wider since he knows its a good shove spot, i would probably have OPR'd him and called AT+ and 77+ and possible even kqs
