Sorry, no HH, but here's the situation: It's the $10+1 superstack tourney on FT, 1900+ entries, a little over 400 players left, pays 189. I have about 16k chips, blinds 250-500, 50 ante. All fold to me with A-Qo. Villain has huge stack, like close to 100k, and has been aggressive, have seen him raise frequently and bullying table. He has reraised with A-Js, A-10o and 77, two of these hands being suckouts, thus the big stack. All fold to me, and I make it $1500. He reraises to $5000. What do you do? Ok, I'll tell you, because the outcome is irrelevant, I want to know if this was the right move. I shoved. Turns out he also has A-Q, but it's suited, and he friggin flopped his flush, gg me. So my questions are:
1. Is my bet size correct when I raised? Should it be more?
2. Should I have shoved? Called? Folded?
Generally, I'm trying to loosen up my game and not be so nitty, but I'm wondering if this was the time to shove. I think I could have cashed if I reverted back to being super nitty and folded or called, but there's no way of knowing this. However, I'm tired of just minimum cashing and wanted a shot at doing well in this tourney. Thanks for any advice, appreciate it. -
std, wp.
you can't do anything else obv.
BvB 30x against described player AQ is the nutz -
Standard play, Unlucky with the outcome.
IMO my play would of been limp the SB hoping that the LAG would raise the BB, in which you shove all-in. Most likely he would of called with AQs tho. -
Thanks for the responses, guys. Really appreciate it. I thought I might have fucked up, but now am relieved. Unlucky, but relieved:)
