  1. Hi all, I found myself re-reading Gidder's original SnG-Challenge post and became somewhat inspiried to try something like this for myself.

Pokerroom is currently my favorite site to play at, so I was wondering if this would be a good place to try the challenge at? I've had a little experience with their SnG's, mostly at the $30+3 and $50+5 level, but I haven't played much at other sites to compare them to.
How are the quality of players at the $11/$22 levels compared to other sites?
How is the structure compared to other sites for this?

I'm planning on playing "robot poker" and Multi-tabling about 4 tables, much like Gidders described, just trying to do my homework before I start :-)

    Thanks in advance!
  2. Sounds like a good plan. I love pokerroom Sng's, but my computer crashes when I Multi-Table at that site. I would try to multi-table play money games to see if your computer will crash. Have you tried Prima's SnG's?
  3. I've never played more than 2 screens at pokerroom, but at the $5.00 level of SNGs they have the worst players alive! Players on that site have a fear of money or something because they hemorrhage it. I myself have had better results on here than on pokerstars. If I was to make a suggesstion though, I'd 4 table the low limit hold'em (or omaha 8/b) cash tables. I went back to playing them and have been very successful thus far. Since I've been 2 tabling the 0.25/0.50 hold'em tables, I'm averaging $7.00/hr or 7 big bets per table per hour. I played J 10 in late position yesterday and flop came down J 8 4. I stuck around till the river with 3 other callers and won with the lowly pair of jacks. I figured one of them would have me beat, but I guess an overcard and 3 other people in the hand is not enough to scare away any of those maniacs. I realize this isn't the level of play you're looking for, but at higher levels players aren't a whole lot better. But if you're just looking to try out the SNG-Challenge on the cheap side to see what your results would be, in my opinion the lowest level players on pokerroom are 1000 times worse than on pokerstars, but you can't go wrong with either site.
  4. In terms of competition, the 5-10-20 SNG'S on Pokerroom are very soft. People with call ur AA raises early with Q10 suited and will go all-in if they flop a ten.

The new structure which now brings a 8 min blind system DOESNT suit my game at all (10 min if 50$+ i think). If your like me (tight early and aggressive late), it is awful compared to the 10 hand system which they previously had. The thing is that early on, the 10 hand system gave more time to build a stack with small blinds and with the blinds growing rapidly at the 4th,5th and 6th level, u can be more aggressive since the players get tighter.

Now with the 8 min blinds, u have less time to get a stack (u get to play around 30 hands and the blinds are at 50-100 or 75-150) and the shorthanded game is weird now. I used to 4-table the 11's with EASE but i have moved my game to dise.

    just my 2 cents
  5. stars and UB same structure for the most part. Best on net . party blows
  6. For your information.

The new level structure for low-limit SnGs (8 minute levels) is being looked over.
We are not fully pleased with it as some IRL figures are not matching our pre-launch analysis.

Will keep you all posted on that. Do note that the 8 minute levels only relate to low-limit SnGs. For mid/high-limit SnGs we're using 12 and 15 minute levels.

    Sincerely,

    Rod

  7. impressive that PokerRoom seems to be putting forth a lot of effort to improve their site and listen to the players. This can only lead to good things.
