About 40 players remaining. Villan came to the table about 10 hands before and this is his first shove. What are we calling with here vs. a 6bb shove that will cripple us if we lose?

fwiw...I know I made the right call. Not worried about the results, but it got me thinking of what else I could make this call with. -
keeping in mind that the average player this deep in a $10FO is not shoving nearly wide enough, you still should be calling relatively wide.. you aren't exactly crippled if you lose, though u will be reduced to manch-stack-status.
I think something like A9+ KQ, and 55+ If he has shown tendency to shove light in past i probably expand to A7s+ and QJs, but it's obv not a great spot for you... you have to make the light call here simply bc the structure of this tourney is horrible and is crapshooty at the end. You still got a shove stack w/ some FE if u lose, so I don't mind calling w/ some hands that you know you are flipping at best with. -
i'm callin fairly wide there. with 13500 in the pot to call 21215 more after his shove. i know u were prolly playin a in of 10 tables so i doubt u had time to opr him but if i have time to this is a spot where i opr the guy. if hes got any kind of profit and isnt a total fish then im gonna b thinkin he knows to shove like ATC there, and adding that fact with the odds the pot is layin u.... i'm not sure i could give my exact callin range cus alot of that depends on my mood at the time lol. but i'm never folding a ace or a pair there and prolly not a halfway decent king all the way down to j10s+ sumtimes esp if the guy seems to b competent enuf to know to shove light n that spot...anyway hope u slowrolled him with 22 and won against his 42o
